Music aside, the Koreans do have a great talent in making good TV shows as well. Thus, the trend is unsurprising. Korean shows usually add creative and unusual elements. Unafraid of breaking boundaries, the shows that they make are unique but sometimes hilarious and oddly satisfying to watch.

1. Pinocchio
This is not an adaptation of Disney's wooden puppet. Korea's Pinocchio drama features charming actress Park Shin-Hye who plays the role of Choi In-ha, that every time she tells a lie big or small she finds herself hiccup-ing.
Alongside with her friend Choi Dal-Po (also Ki Ha-Myung), played by Lee Jong-suk, they become trainee reporters at rival networks. Later on, it turns out Ki' Ha-Myung'ss family is a victim of fake news way back, and its executioner was none other than Choi In-ha's mother, who in the current day is already an extremely successful reporter.
There is a twist of fate for both characters that are working on the same goal which is to take down fake news.
2. Oh My Ghost
Want more of the famous actress Park Shin-Hye?
Well, in Oh My Ghost, she plays the character of Na Bong-sun, a girl who becomes possessed by a ghost (Soon Shin-ae, portrayed by Kim Seul-gi) and in a snap, she transforms from a timid and unconfident girl into a feisty girl on a mission. The mission is that Soon Shin-ae wants is to lose her virginity, which will be the reason resolve her "grudge" and help her move on to the afterlife.
3. The Sound of Your Heart
If you are an aspiring comic artist, then this drama "The Sound of Your Heart" offers this formula for success: Paint the adventures of your family's daily life. That is how South Korean artist Jo Seok played by Lee Kwang-soo in the show hit the jackpot.
The series is based on his 2006 webtoon that covers his mom's attempt to do better than her friend's smart home devices, his brother's hours-long video call involving a short walk to the supermarket and how Jo managed to win his girlfriend's heart which becomes his wife Ae Bong.
4. Descendants of the Sun
Lastly, "Descendants of the Sun" is a story about love starring real-life couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-Kyo, who plays the role of captain of South Korea's Special Forces Unit and a doctor respectively.
Not like the typical romance dramas, this one was taken in the fictional war-torn country of Uruq, where Yoo (Song Joong-ki) is on a peacekeeping mission and Kang (Song Hye-Kyo) leads a medical team.
But there's a lot more going on than those sentimental love scenes. In this drama, you will find yourself holding your breath whenever someone's in danger.
