We all agree that at some point in the history of watching k-drama, this has really happened to us. There is a time when we feel like having butterflies in our stomach from watching those romantic scenes of our leading stars and the next thing we know is that we are already drooling as the stars of the drama indulge in some very delicious and mouth watering food.
Yes, we have all been there. We have experienced that drooling situation. But to relive you from those moments of torture and maybe give you some inspiration as to what or where to eat on lunch and dinner, here is a list of the yummy Korean food that we find ourselves craving for while watching our K-dramas.
1. Ramyeon
Okay, a Korean Drama would not be complete without a scene having a bowl of spicy noodles. Like, remember the scene where the "My Love From the Star's" Cheon Song Yi played by Jun Ji Hyun found herself finishing a whole bowl of ramyeon when her aim is to have just three bites? There is also a scene on the "gang from Reply 1988" that they always shared a pot of ramyeon in their main hangout place. They also showed us in the drama that a plain noodles can be upgraded with adding or mixing it with adding eggs, hotdogs, and radish kimchi. Another piece of advice be careful when inviting someone to your home for a bowl of ramyeon, because according to What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, it's a classic pickup line in Korea. How funny is that?
2. Korean Beef
In My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, I remembered there was a scene where Shin Min Ah's character just enjoyed eating the slices of Korean beef. It is probably because the country of South Korea, is proud of producing the most premium meat. So, next time if you're planning to go on an authentic Korean resto, splurge on a serving of beef to taste the difference!
3. Samgyupsal
If you're trying your best to go on a diet, then suddenly there is a scene in the Korean drama that you are watching where the characters are enjoying a freshly grilled Samgyupsal in their favorite restaurant, then all you can do is just say "Okay, goodbye diet". Like the epic scene from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo that gave us an idea on how to maximize a samgyupsal experience. Here's another tip for you for your next samgyupsal adventure, you should try this combo in this specific order: plain meat, marinated meat, fried rice called bokkeumbap in Korea, and lastly, naengmyeon or the famous cold noodles. The best combo that you will surely enjoy!
4. Kimchi
Let us not forget the every Korean drama character's favorite side dish, the ever famous KIMCHI! This food is another main item that always makes a cameo in Korean dramas. And this is the Korean side dish that always blends in well when paired with practically any food. And in Boys over Flowers, Gu Jun Pyo (played by Lee min Ho) really did enjoy the kimchi making and eating a handful of it.
