The Valentine's Day is already fast approaching and people tend to have thoughts about love and romance. There is a new survey that indicates that the thought of love has a lot to do with the Korean Drama preferences. The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) just recently released the Consumer Research Report on Korean Contents in the U.S. Market. It is announced that the 59 percent of the surveyed Korean drama viewers in the U.S. claimed that romantic comedies were their favorite genre.

A government agency which is the KOCCA is the one that conducts the research on Korean contents business. According to their research, they found out that the U.S. there has been a progressive increase in k-drama viewers and the number of viewers that has been watching Korean drama for more than three year has also elevated.

Based on the research and survey conducted, the women who are in their late teens up to early 30's are the avid viewers of Korean drama in the U.S. In the survey 59% of them claimed that they enjoy romantic comedies the most. 53.3% said that the main factor that they give value the most when choosing a drama is the plot. And the 25% said they base it on the cast of the drama.

Here are the top three best dramas that was mentioned in the survey, were What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, starring Park Min-young and Park Seo-joon, Hotel del Luna, starring IU and Yeo Jin-goo, and Her Private Life, starring Park Min-young and Kim Jae-wook. There were also other famous dramas that was not precisely distinctly in the romantic comedy genre here are the dramas mentioned, A Korean Odyssey, Mr. Sunshine, Arthdal Chronicles, Sky Castle, Angel's Last Mission: Love, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

Of all the survey participant, more than half or 58.2 percent declared that they have been avid watchers of Korean dramas for over five years. 40.8% claimed that they watch Korean dramas for at least seven hours a week. The counted number of Korean drama viewers for to seven hours a week was 17%, for the span of three to five hours was rated 20.7%, and 16% for the one to three hours.

On the other hand, there were 29.6% of participants that claimed that they have watched six to 10 Korean dramas in the year 2019, and there is the 23.2% who said that they watched over 20 dramas.

Out of the top 10 k-dramas that was picked by viewers in the U.S., there were seven that the company Studio Dragon produced. Since romantic comedies dramas are big hits, the Studio Dragon has decided to create more rom-com drama for the year 2020. Here are some drama that will be released this 2020 including A Piece of Your Mind, starring, Jung Hae-In and Chae Soo-bin; Memory of Youth, starring Park Bo-gum and Parasite star Park So-dam, Sandbox, starring Kim Seon-ho, The King, starring Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun, and My Holo Love, a Netflix original starring Yoon Hyun-min and Go Sung-hee.
