Kim Dong Wook Reveals How He Prepared for His Role in "Find Me In Your Memory"
He won an acting award and his latest role makes him want to do more. Kim Dong Wook is up for the challenge to look real as can be as a news anchor in his role in the new drama 'Find Me In Your Memory'.
The upcoming MBC drama series is a story of a successful news anchor Lee Jung Hoon (played by Kim Dong Wook), who carries a rare condition called Hyperthymesia. It is not a typical condition wherein one person can remember all the memories in a clear vision to his head. He suffered emotional pain throughout his journey. He then meets the famous actress Yeo Ha Jin (played by Mun Ka-Young). There are a part of her memories that she cannot remember. The circumstances that brought them together will make your heart fall in love and be in pain. 'Find Me In Your Memory' brings them together in finding love amidst his reputation, her fame, and their struggles.
Last year was a breakthrough for Kim Dong Wook as he received recognition from the MBC Drama Awards. Winning Grand Prize for his acting performance in 'Special Labor Inspector, Mr. Jo'. The award makes him surpass his acting skills in the past.
During a recent interview, the actor expressed his gratitude to his fans. He said, "Thanks to all the people who watched and supported me, I was able to receive such a great award. Now that I have felt the happiness of receiving the award, I will do my best to show you a sense of responsibility and gratitude that will not disappoint you in more work."
Kim Dong Wook decided to research how a newscaster works around and talks in front of a live studio. He checked his age and appearance matches to a real anchorman. This makes him adjust to how it will affect his bearing in the leading role. The actor also chose to contact a real anchorman. He sees to it that during the entire drama series he will deliver the lead role as real it can get. He practices to sound and talk like a newscaster while doing his recordings. He submits his voice cover and asks for recommendations from a professional anchorman.
"I lost about 14 kilograms [approximately 31 pounds] for the character Lee Jung Hoon. I control my weight whenever I discuss with the director and writer and decide that it would be helpful to the character to make changes in my appearance," he shared.
Kim Dong Wook is grateful to work with Moon Ga Young. He shared in his interview that he is grateful to work with her. Every time they are together Moon Ga Young gives happiness and good vibes during their taping set. He describes how professional he is in every scene and carries herself. MBC 'Find Me In Your Memory' will premier on March 18, 2020, and will air every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:00 KST.
