As we all move closer to the premiere of its much-awaited second season, cast of the well-loved Netflix thriller 'Kingdom', directed by Kim Sung-hoon and Park In-je, held a live conference interview on Thursday, March 5. In this gathering, they gave hints regarding their roles in Season 2.

'Kingdom' is a mystery thriller that focuses on a kingdom in the Joseon era that is slowly being invaded by a zombie apocalypse. The forthcoming season will follow the crown prince's battle to keep his people safe while feeling as though he can't trust anyone. The first season's theme is people living in an impoverished state and the hunger of power.

The drama's writer, Kim Eun-hee, spilled, "Not only about red blood, but about the royal blood as well. The series will depict both the bloodthirsty sufferers of the 'undead disease' and mankind lusting [after] the throne."

Each actor also explained the differences between the Season 1 and Season 2 in their roles.

Ju Ji-hoon takes the role of Lee Chang said, "In the first season, I was running away from the evil Cho Hak-joo (played by Ryu Seung-ryong) clan, the queen's family. In the second season, I'll be going after them to become the next king."

Bae Doona, who plays the role of Seobi, said, "I am a woman who fulfills her role as the medical assistant in Season 1 and saves people. She becomes smarter as she transitions to Season 2."

Then, Ryu Seung-Ryong, who portrays Cho Hak-Joo, said, "[He] is a person who shows how scary humans who follow power and false beliefs are. In Season 1, he is the character who is free to do what he wants. In Season 2, his role will give tension to confronting opposing opponents. Like in Season 1, he is stuck next to the prince like a shadow, and is worried that the prince might get hurt."

The success of Season 1 draws higher expectations for Season 2. It will premiere on Netflx on March 13.
