The main office of the Korean network KBS located in Youngdeung-po, Yeoyi-do is currently undergoing quarantine procedures after discovering that one of their employees tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID19) on March 10.

The broadcasting station informed other media outlets that on the evening of March 9, they were notified that their employee "A" has a son that was tested and resulted in positive for the Coronavirus. Due to this unfortunate information released, employee "A" along with 11 other co-workers volunteered to be placed under quarantine and should undergo a series of virus testing. The day after, on the evening of March 10, employee "A" who was known as a primary suspect also tested positive for the disease.

Soon after "A" and his/her fellow co-workers made a decision to voluntarily submit themselves for quarantine procedures. Most floors of the KBS main building were declared closed and off-limits for the 24-hours. The employees of the network were asked to work from home as of the moment. Moreover, the network also stated that employee "A" was part of the cleaning staff in KBS that was in charge of floors such as the 1st and 2nd floors, underground floor level 1, etc. It is also reported that "A" was constantly using sterile gloves and was wearing a mask all the time while on the job. Currently, his/her fellow co-workers are still on the process of virus testing.

Currently, KBS1 is in charge of broadcasting the realtime updates on the Coronavirus nationwide with the updated instructions on preventative measures and more using its emergency broadcast the 'COVID19 KBS New Room'.

From the start and early stage, the government of Korea has set key principles to fight and prevent the Covid-19 that is to Be quick, transparent and pre-emptive. Not like the other countries where only patients showing symptoms should have been tested, the country of Korea chose to test everyone who has been in close contact with those who have confirmed cases.

Instead of waiting for some patients to come in and volunteer to be tested, they pursued and tracked down those possible suspected patients to stop the spread of the virus within the community. The transparent catchall way that is being supported by the outstanding diagnostic capacity has practically indicated Korea as one of the most affected countries. As of March 11, Korea has a lot of confirmed cases of the said virus amounting to 7,755. This result came out since having tested 214,640 cases. This is also the main reason behind the low mortality rate of 0.77 percent, which is far below the 3.4 percent global average.

The Korean government is certain that with their approach, characterized by full transparency, pre-emption, and prevention, is working. On the process of the fight for the life and health of the Korean people, they hope that the "Korea model" or "Korean Celebrity" would use their power to inform others in the shared battle against Covid-19.
