Girls' Generation member Yoona revealed her next film and it's going to be JTBC's new "Hush" series!
"Hush" will be about people who are working in a news outlet and their professional experiences as journalists. Film actor Hwang Jung Min had already been identified as the male lead of the drama and now YoonA will play the role of an intern journalist, Lee Ji Soo. YoonA will deliver mentor chemistry to Hwang Jung Min.
It was on March 11 when Sports Chosun revealed that a source from the drama industry had confirmed that YoonA is evaluating positively the offer to lead in JTBC's "Hush" adding that she will be showcasing mentorship chemistry with Hwang Jung Min.
SM Entertainment confirmed, following stories and stated, "YoonA received and reviews an offer for "Hush."
"Hush" is an office drama about newspaper reporters and their trials and tribulations, challenges and ethical dilemmas, based on Jung Jin Young's novel "Silence Warning" (literal title) The drama must portray the concerns that not only serve journalists but those of all office workers.
It has been previously reported that actor Hwang Jung Min will be appearing in "Hush," marking it his first drama in eight years. He will play the role of Han Joon Hyuk, a professional reporter whom has chosen his job for wanting to create a better and fairer world. He's been cycling through different divisions of the media yet would always talk about the discrepancy between justice and truth.
After taking part in last year's popular film, YoonA will come back to the small screen three years after MBC's "The King Loves."
The role of the junior intern journalist Lee Ji Soo was given to YoonA, who had only recently entered the media sector. Lee Ji Soo matures after becoming a newspaper publisher as she fights relentlessly to seek justice while standing between truth and values.
In the same squad, Yoona and Hwang Jung Min will play junior and senior roles as well as mentees and instructors. Each should bring audiences comfort through a story about working life.
Yoona, who had been featured to cover a photo session with L'Officiel fashion magazine, said that "I often think I would like to pursue roles that are unique from the characters that I have portrayed before. You just see one aspect of me, yet I know about a couple of different sides."
The theme of the photoshoot focussed on the comparison between models of "feminine" and "masculine." YoonA said in the interview: "I have been wearing a great deal of 'feminine' style so far, so I was more interested in the 'male' idea. This is why I believe it's better for me to have clothes in the "lovely" element. I liked it all with respect to results. For the future, for pictures, I will try several different styles."
"Hush" is set to air on the second half of the year.
