There are heaps of Korean Dramas that have the best plots, making us incredibly invested in the individual stories of every character, sometimes even overly invested that we end up rooting for the one that we know will not end up with the lead role.

Many K-drama fanatics have developed the so-called Second Lead Syndrome at some point in their watching career (and we're pretty sure you experienced this, too!), but can we blame them when actors, such as Jisoo and Kim Woobin, are the ones chasing after the girl?

Here is a list of second leads that stole our hearts!

    1. Boys Over Flowers

Our second lead, Yun Jihoo, is the exact opposite of the leading man with his thoughtful, gentle, protective nature towards Geum Jandi that made all our hearts flutter with every interaction they had.

2. Reply 1988

Remember when everyone (yes, that includes you) thought Duk Seon and Junghwan were going to end up together because of their chemistry? Remember the crowded bus scene? Swoon.

3. She was Pretty

Jackson! Childhood friends Kim Hyejin and Kim Shinhyuk would have been made a perfect childhood friends to lovers story but alas, Hyejin chose Ji Sungjoon in the end.

4. Cheese in the Trap

Hong Seol and Baek Inho's relationship is just one of the many one-sided love stories told in K-dramas, but we all felt the heartache Inho felt when the girl he liked kept going to his mortal enemy.

5. Hotel Del Luna

Imagine having a guy roam around the earth as a firefly, trying to protect you, but being viewed as the bad guy when he's just in love with you Go Chungmyung deserves everything and more!

6. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

Jisoo, the Icon of all Second Lead Syndrome, plays the role of In Kookdoo who is the brusque yet soft-hearted love interest of Bong Soon. Sadly, he realized his feelings way too late and lost the girl to the leading man.

7. The Heirs

Choi Youngdo's attempt in winning Cha Eunsang's affection was questionable at best. However, many fans felt deeply for him when his inner struggles, which was the reason why he turned out to be so mean, were revealed. It helps that he's so good-looking too, especially with his forehead exposed!

8. While You Were Sleeping

Han Wootak and his small, secret crush on Nam Hong-joo didn't escape the notice of the viewers. He endured his feelings towards the lead character and did not act on it even though he had multiple chances to do so. He's a whole sweetheart which makes our hearts hurt more.

9. Go Back Couple

Jung Namgil, played by Jang Kiyong, was the cool yet cold college senior who was born in a wealthy and privileged family. His cold-exterior melted when he was around Ma Jinjoo, quickly opening up and simultaneously falling in love with her.

10. Love in the Moonlight

Kim Yoonsung is the dreamy scholar who experienced love at first sight with Hong Raon and saved her multiple times in the drama. He impressed everyone with his excellent swordsmanship during the fight scene.

11. Who Are You: School 2015

Everyone wished someone looked at them the way Kong Taegwang stares at Ka Eunbyeol. Our lonely, energy bunny was sadly the second lead in School 2015. But everytime he comforted the leading lady, we all wished it would be him that she chose.
