The long-awaited, hilarious and quirky drama "Backstreet Rookie" has finally aired its first episode and we cannot wait to watch more!

"Backstreet Rookie" is a romantic drama that is based off a popular webtoon. It tells the story of a man who owns a convenience store named Choi Dae Hyun who is portrayed by Ji Chang Wook together with his attractive part-time employee who has a fiery personality named Jung Saet Byul, portrayed by Kim Yoo Jung.

The pilot episode gave justice to the pre-released teasers. There were enjoyable moments and hilarious bits but there were also some scenes that should've been cut, in our opinion.

Here are the things we loved and hated in the pilot episode of "Backstreet Rookie." Watch out for spoilers!

1. We Love the fun and quirkiness of it

With the way the drama is filmed and edited, one can really tell that it is based off a webtoon. The drama brings a Manhwa Style of editing with the chunky texts and the illustration graphics when Jung Saet Byul is in the middle of a fight. This kind of effect of editing brings a fun and unserious tone to the drama which allows viewers to just sit back, relax and enjoy the drama.

However, besides the comedy, Jung Saet Byul brings deep within her the cuts in her past and her worrying that her little sister following in her footsteps which gives balance to the drama.

2. We Love Ji Chang Wook as Choi Dae Hyun

Ji Chang Wook is one of the most promising actors and fans will agree that he never played one dull character. He brings such a fun and quirky way of acting in all of his characters in the dramas that he plays in. Ji Chang Wook plays the role of Choi Dae Hyun who is a handsome convenient store manager. He is one of the people that gets easily intimidated and is quite naïve but has a very bubbly and quirky personality.

3. We Love Kim Yoo Jung playing the sultry Jung Saet Byul

Jung Saet Byul's attractiveness and her ability to fight and protect herself, makes her almost like a perfect human being. Kim Yoo Jung is without a doubt a woman who has a vibrant, fun yet also a little bit intimidating personality which makes her very fun to watch. With her confidence and strengths, viewers will feel bad for Choi Dae Hyun!

4. We love the relationships of the character

Choi Dae Hyun and Jung Saet Byul's chemistry is very easy and evident in the drama which will definitely make our hearts flutter but what is also very fun to watch is Jung Saet byul's friendship with her two best friends! They are hilarious and makes viewers want to see more scenes with the three of them. Also, Choi Dae Hyun's girlfriend which is so obvious that she is the dominant one in the relationship. Viewers are curious to see what will her reaction be with a attractive woman working for his boyfriend.

5. We hated the guy!

Yes, Jung Saet Byul's guy best friend named Han Dal Sik. A lot of viewers agree that it was quite uncomfortable to watch with all his over the top shivers and moans. The fact that he plays a Jamaican persona and also showing that he is unhygienic and unclean is quite culturally offensive and I think people do not need to see that.

Other than that, we loved "Backstreet Rookie" and its fun and quirky kind of drama!
