Over the weekend, Seoul, South Korea was hit by torrential rain described as one of the worst in a century. The city was triggered by landslides and flash floods that destroyed many properties.

According to the reports, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said, "the heavy rainfall over the weekend triggered landslides in dozens of places, flooded residential areas and roads, and damaged some riverside structures. The Seoul metropolitan area and the central region were damaged the most."

Not only has the recent tragic incident caused few deaths, but it also affected citizens' livelihood, severe structural damage, and destroyed agricultural farms.

One of the active Korean celebrities who quickly took the initiative to help is national MC and comedian, Yoo Jae Suk. The Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association stated on August 3rd that Yoo Jae Suk had donated 100 million won (approximately 83,000 USD) to the "2020 Flood Damage Emergency Relief Campaign."

It was a great relief not only to the people in need. According to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, "We are glad whenever there is a new campaign for disaster relief. MC Yoo Jae Suk has always quietly given a generous sum of money. As several regions of the country suffered an unexpected rainstorm, we look forward to how Yoo Jae Suk's donation will have a positive influence."

Early this year, Yoo Jae Suk also donated 100 million won to help aid in the country's battle due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Yoo Jae Suk is considered a role model among his fellow entertainers and citizens of Korea for his exemplary image and participation in philanthropic acts.

The pretty Actress Yoo In Na also recently donated 50 million won (approximately 41,800 USD) to the flood victims through the Hope Bridge campaign. The actress is known for her generosity and spending her time helping children and teenagers. She had sponsored children's meals in Africa and the Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle Campaign.
