Netflix Suspends Filming of All Produced Content in Korea

The Korean entertainment industry recently resorted to suspension of activities after actors and staff tested positive for COVID-19. Fifteen staff members from a musical play were diagnosed while others are in self-isolation.

Netflix Korea joined in the Korean's government fight for safety and health restriction to its people. With the spike of numbers as coronavirus resurgence, Netflix decided to stop filming all content produced in Korea.

Netflix released an official statement, saying, "It has come to our decision, Netflix suspend all content production schedules for the time being. In accordance with the government's recommendations for public safety. Most important is the safety of production crews participating in Korean content production."

They added, "Furthermore, the progress of the production affected will depend on the future situation. The safety of the creator team and the production cre is our top priority. We shall decide when to resume and await for the government's decision as well."

In effect, Netflix "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead" under Netflix production has been suspended.

"Squid Game" is a survival game, a story of people who decided to become the players of a survival game that has a 40 million dollar prize at stake, starring Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Wi Ha Joon, and Heo Sung Tae.

"All of Us Are Dead" is about a group of high school students who are faced with an extreme crisis situation when they become trapped in their school as a zombie virus spreads. Starring Yoon Chan Young, Lee Kyu Hyung, Park Ji Hoo, and many more.

Recently, there are more than 10 k-dramas on halt due to staff working several productions. Though several actors were tested and the result was negative it gives relief but not an assurance that all will be safe.

The most affected right now is former Ulzzang Generation member and current webtoon author, Park Tae Joon as confirmed for COVID-19.
