More Shows Halt Filming After COVID-19 Spike Running Man

The entertainment industry came to an all-stop after the spike of the pandemic.

Almost a week ago, three actors had been diagnosed with a positive infection of COVID-19. Since then, all contacts have been traced for testing and monitoring to stop spreading the virus.

There are several actors like Go Ara and Seo Yi Sook who got negative results of the virus after they rushed for testing. The industry is more strict and makes the control of the spread of the virus among the staff.

Recently, more variety shows, drama, and film industries were hit with the pandemic. Big networks like KBS and SBS have decided to suspend all filming to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

On August 24, "Running Man" and "Master in the House" canceled their filming production. They made the necessary move to stop the production to ensure the cast and crew's health and safety. According to the source, "There are segments that we have recorded earlier and will be aired as scheduled. The management is discussing further filming dates."

Studio Dragon handles the production for dramas on channels such as tvN, OCN, and KBS also halted production. The production manager for Studio Dragon Kim Young Gyu shared, "With the spike of the coronavirus's spread, we agreed to cancel all scheduled filming from August 24 to August 31 to protect the safety of the cast and staff involved in the production."

Previous reports released from CJ ENM on August 22 explained that dramas such as "Flower of Evil" and "Missing The Other Side" will halt filming. But tvN's "Forest of Secrets 2" and "Record of Youth" will broadcast as scheduled as they are already finished filming. Furthermore, variety shows like "Hometown Flex" will stop filming, and Mnet's live music program "M Countdown" will stop airing until further notice, according to CJ ENM.

Upcoming drama KBS "Zombie Detective" announced that the production decided to halt filming and postpone its original premiere date of August 31. The same with the upcoming drama "Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol" premiere date will be delayed.

While "To All The Guys Who Loved Me" resumed filming to finalize the show's end finale. The production follows the strict protocol from the government following the safety of the crew. Those who are not in contact with staff who were diagnosed joined the filming.
