Actress Kim Jung Hwa and her husband Yoo Eun Sung, a contemporary Christian music singer, have announced that they are expecting their first child. She is eight weeks pregnant.
Kim Jung Hwa's agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, has released a statement saying that she is expecting to give birth next June.
"The actress is now in her eighth week of pregnancy. She is currently in the U.S. working with her husband Yoo Eun Sung on their music ministry," said the agency's statement. "They both plan to return to Korea at the end of the year."
Kim Jung Hwa met her husband, a composer, singer and missionary, when they were both serving as honorary ambassadors for Korea Food for the Hungry International. Both are devout Christians who actively engage in various forms of volunteer work. Yoo Eun Sung is six years older than the 30-year-old actress.
They grew closer when he composed the song, "Hello Agnes" for her. The song was named after the essay book that she wrote, titled "Hello Agnes." Kim wrote the book about her experiences in providing support for a Ugandan child named Agnes, who she met in 2009. Kim Jung Hwa then wrote the song's lyrics to accompany Yoo Eun Sung's musical composition. The song they composed together was released with the book.
According to her agency, the fact that the couple met through her adopted daughter, Agnes, made their relationship even more precious. The couple married on August 24 at Dong Soong Church in Seoul. And now they will have another child to round out their family. Both Kim Jung Hwa and her husband are very excited about the new addition to the family.
"Kim Jung Hwa is healthy," said the representative from her agency. "She is feeling good and happy. She said that she felt like it was time for her to become a mother."
The actress and model first debuted in the Lee Seung Hwan music video "You and You." She has appeared in dramas and films, most notably as Seol Ji in "King Gwanggeto" and as Kim Joo Hee in "Ugly Cake." Earlier this year the actress appeared in the musical "The Days" and then played Yoon Yi Seol, Lee Jong Hyuk's lost first love in the drama "Dating Agency: Cyrano."
Kim Jung Hwa donated all the earnings of from the sales of her book "Hello Agnes" to the Uganda AIDS Orphan Children's Foundation.
