All of us have different starting point stories to share on how we got hooked up in the Korean drama world. However, I know you would agree that the "Korean drama magic" made us suddenly the immortal that possess the power to withstand hunger and sleep.
Even though we are not like social media passionate as our cousins from K-pop fandoms, we surely know that we are one of the most loyal fan groups on earth. Whether you're a newbie fan or a longtime fan, these moments that always happen to an avid Korean drama fan is 100% relatable, for sure!
Being so impatient to wait for the Subs to appear
This is one of the worst things that could happen to an international K-Drama fan, waiting for the subtitles! For those who aren't a fan, you may say it takes a short time, but for us avid fans, the wait is beyond painful! The desperation to watch the show is real, but you know you wouldn't appreciate it if you don't understand anything! However, a sense of relief is there when the subs are finally uploaded, and you can't contain your happiness, and you just want to hug the translator for their job well done.
When you know your body, need this, but K-Dramas are more important than sleep
Pressing that pause button is never easy! So when we check the time, and it's still quite early, you just can't stop and watch another episode. Then rechecking the time and thinking there's still time to sleep, you decide to continue watching. This goes on and on until you realize that the sun is up! Oh well, what can we say? Dramas are waaayyy more important than sleep (This is what all Korean drama avid fans say, all the time).
Experiencing the so-called "second lead syndrome"
Why? Oh, why? Doesn't the female lead fall head over heels with the second male lead? We know we already have! Oh well, as an avid fan, I know what you're thinking! If the main female lead doesn't take him, does that mean we can? Yes, please!
When you're so desperate to find out what happens next?
Are you also curious as to why every episode ends on a cliffhanger? The painful feeling of waiting for another week for the next episode is pure torture! So what do you do within that week of waiting? You just have to go back through every detail from the previous episodes and try to puzzle your theory of what will probably happen next.
The satisfaction you feel when the protagonist throwing water in the antagonist's face
Throwing water in someone's face is considered the greatest revenge. Nothing spells revenge quite like an icy cold drink in someone's face!
When you're just desperate for a second season
Even the ending is happy and favorable; we don't care! We want and need to see more and more. So we're begging the producers, writers, directors to please make a second season cause we're desperate to see more of our favorite characters!
