Park So Dam Undergoes COVID-19 Testing after Being in Close Contact to a COVID-Positive Staff

On Dec. 5 a source from the production company of the upcoming theatrical Korean play titled "L'étudiante et Monsieur Henri" declared that the show will halt its production for approximately two weeks.

The production company released a statement and said that actress Park So Dam had undergone COVID19 testing after she was informed that one of her company staff members whom she had close contact with tested positive for the virus on Dec. 4. The actress is currently waiting for the result and is under quarantine. The said staff went to the theater building on Dec. 3 to meet with Park So Dam. The company added that they do not expect any further COVID19 cases to arise from this since the theater has maintained strict disinfection measures. However, just for precaution, the show will halt its production for 2 weeks to ensure all casts and crews' safety.

The showing for "L'étudiante et Monsieur Henri" will be paused for now and will resume on Dec. 18 unless otherwise noted.


Meanwhile, It was previously reported that Park So Dam, Yuri, and Chae Soo Bin were all cast in the play "Grandpa Henry and I." This is known as the Korean version of the 2012 French play "L'étudiante et Monsieur Henri" by Ivan Calbérac. The Korean theatrical shows normally cast more than one actor for the same role, with the actor's alternating performances.

"Grandpa Henry and I" is a play that happily portrays the process of becoming a special being in each other's lives by the stubborn grandfather of Henri and the college student, Constance. Yuri, Park So Dam, and Chae Soo Bin were all cast to play one character, which is the lead role as Constance. She is a college student wandering in search of her dream.

South Korean actress Park So Dam was born on September 8, 1991. She became widely recognized for her portrayal as a demon-possessed schoolgirl in The Priests and also starring as Eun Ha-won in the Korean television series Cinderella with Four Knights.

Fast forward to 2019, Park So Dam starred in Bong Joon Ho's black comedy, Parasite. The said film became a box office success in South Korea and gained international critical acclaim. She is best known for her portrayal as Kim Ki Jung, a crafty, whip-smart family's younger sister. Her "Jessica Jingle" in the movie became famous worldwide. Parasite won the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Picture.
