It's Park Bo Gum’s 100th Day in The Navy

Park Bo Gum has already spent a hundred days serving his mandatory military service! Let's take a quick trip and look back on his journey as a soldier serving the country.

On Aug. 31, 2020, Park Bo Gum entered the military to serve South Korea and underwent his training at the Naval Education and Training Command in Jinhae, Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea. The actor was one of the estimated 1,300 recruits who enlisted on that day (Aug. 31, 2020) along with other individuals from Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Busan, and Gwangju.

On Sept. 9, the Naval Education and Training Command released some photos of the 669th Navy recruits, which included our dear Bogummy!

In the photos that were released, we have spotted Park Bo Gum proudly wearing his uniform and a face mask standing alongside his fellow soldiers which belonged to the 4th platoon of the 2nd company. In order to follow the COVID-19 precautions in South Korea, the new recruits were required to wear face masks.

On Oct. 8, a training completion ceremony for sailors was held at the Naval Education & Training Command in the city of Changwon, and Park Bo Gum was one of the soldiers who has finished the basic training. The Republic of Korea Navy was able to share videos and photos from the event, and in one of the photos was the actor and his fellow recruits. After completing his basic training, he is now serving as a cultural promotion soldier.

Then, in Oct. 2020, the Republic of Korea Navy announced that the actor would be hosting their concert at the Seogwipo Art Center on Jeju Island to celebrate the Navy's 19th onboard debate. On Oct. 27, the concert was broadcasted live on the Republic of Korea Navy's YouTube channel as well as their Facebook page. Park Bo Gum was seen in the concert doing his hosting duties after the honor guard gave the opening performance. He introduced himself as, "A cultural promotion soldier and private, Park Bo Gum."

In the said event, his co-host asked him how he was doing and the actor responded stating that he just completed his basic training and is now appearing on his first-ever official event on Jeju Island. The actor was also able to promote his ongoing K-drama at that time which is "Record of Youth." He also promoted his upcoming sci-fi film where he will star alongside actor Gong Yoo.

It was also announced way back in June that Park Bo Gum was able to pass his exam and interview for the Navy's military band and honor guard. He was then evaluated at the Navy headquarters in Gyeryong, Chungcheong-do, where his piano and singing skills were tested. The actor also left his fans a gift before his enlistment. He released the song "All My Love" on Aug. 10.

Park Bo Gum became widely recognized as an actor through his portrayal in the hit drama "Reply 1988," which aired from November 2015 to January 2016. He also starred in various dramas like "Love in the Moonlight" and "Encounter."
