Kim Seon Ho Talks About His Acting Journey
Kim Seon Ho fever is not yet over, it is just starting!
In a recent interview with Sports Chosun following the end of tvN's drama "Start-Up," actor Kim Seon Ho talks about his character as Han Ji Pyeong and gives a glimpse of how his acting journey has gone.
Even though the 34-year-old actor had appeared in various dramas before his role in "Start-Up," he's been receiving a lot of attention and appreciation recently as the audience got hooked with his character, Han Ji Pyeong.
Kim Seon Ho said, "I do not play a role in any project with the expectation that I'll become famous. I've never imagined something like this. These days, I still can't believe that there were a lot of people showing me interest and support. I wanted to do well in 'Start-Up' because I really like the character of Han Ji Pyeong."
True to his words, he did a great job in portraying the character and made a lot of viewers cry and laugh by just watching him on screen. Kim Seon Ho became immersed in his character, that it allowed people to easily relate to Han Ji Pyeong.
He added, "During the final episode of 'Start-Up,' fans leave so many comments on my Instagram account saying 'Seon Ho, you're doing well right now.' After the final episode ended, I read over these messages, and it made me tear up because of happiness. I had a lot of thoughts while working on the project (Start-Up), but I gained strength knowing that a lot of people were cheering on me."
The drama "Start-Up" is about young people who are in their twenties pursuing their dreams of entering the Sandbox (the fictional Korean equivalent of Silicon Valley). The actor shared, "I can relate to the youths in this drama. No matter who you are, your twenties are an uncomfortable and passion-filled time. I was also like that. I did not have a lot of experience when I started working, but I had so much passion that I wanted to try everything."
He continued, "I did not have any concrete plan towards the career that I wanted to take, but I really wanted to act. After I graduated from university, I wanted to act in theater plays, so what I did was, I threw myself into it with my heart and soul."
Kim Seon Ho also humbly shared that he started from nothing, but he was just so happy acting on stage. Instead of being anxious about his future, he found happiness in every moment of his life.
"There were times when I feel down and despair, but I think of those times as opportunities. When I start to have a lot of doubts, I usually pause for awhile and think about what direction I really want to go in, reset my goals, and take on new challenges. Same as with everyone, there will be a lot of down moments but soon it will turn into new opportunities."
Words of wisdom from actor Kim Seon Ho, this may serve as an inspiration to all the people especially the youth to continue pursuing their dreams, and continue believing in yourself.
