Na In Woo spilled the tea of how he dealt with his character as Kim Byeong In in the romantic comedy-drama "Mr.Queen."
"Mr.Queen" had a successful ending and was able to achieve high ratings during its finale episode. Now that the series is finally over, one of its cast, Na In Woo, sits for an interview and shares some of his experiences in working on an amazing drama project.
In Na Woo Shared the Challenges He Experienced in Portraying the Role of Kim Byeong In
The 26-year-old actor made an impressive performance in projecting his fearless character as the adopted son of Kim Jwa Geun named Kim Byeong In. His challenging role gave him opportunities to showcase what he got, and he didn't fail himself and the viewers, for he already made a good impression on many.
Kim Byeong In is a character who has special feelings for Kim So Yong, the queen of the palace, played by actress Shin Hye Sun. The young actor succeeded in displaying a variety of emotions from bright, warm to melancholy love.
His character gave a big impact to the viewers, specifically from the finale episode of the drama "Mr.Queen" where he risked his own life for the sake of his unrequited love for Kim So Yong.
During the interview, In Na Woo stated that even though his role as Kim Byeong In has an unfortunate ending, the actor still hopes that Byeong In would become a character that will remain within the hearts of the viewer.
Na In Woo shared "After the drama, I start to become more prominent in the eyes of the public, but I am not sure of what has changed in me. My moods are still stable and tend to be more grateful with all the support that I have been receiving. And I promise to myself that given this kind of big opportunity, I will be working harder in my future projects."
Kim Byeong In's character died saving the queen Kim So Yong. And according to In Na Woo, he didn't feel any regret about the fate of his role. The actor honestly shared that for him, it was the best ending from Byeong In's perspective.
When talking about the action scenes, Na In Woo confessed that action was the most difficult to do especially when it is combined with specific emotions that he has to show while doing the action part. He added "Honestly, I experienced being stressed during the shoot, but I was relieved when I knew that the viewers liked it (action scenes)."
Also, he explained that he got the role of Kim Byeong In through an audition, "For male roles, there was an open audition. I tried my luck and participated. I tried auditioning for multiple characters, and fortunately, I was chosen to play as Kim Byeong In."
In Na Woo Built A Good Chemistry Towards His Co-Actors
When talking about his relationship with the cast and the things he experienced during the shoot, In Na Woo mentioned that the set was filled with lots of improvisations. He also revealed that most of the scenes with Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun were almost adlibs.
Na In Woo stated "Kim Jung Hyun has lots of ideas in mind, he also suggests some things that I can do during every scene. When I had a scene where I sprained my arm during the drinking competition scene, that was actually Kim Jung Hyun's idea."
In Woo also shared that he also had good chemistry with actress Shin Hye Sun in the drama. The actor said that he was just seeing the actress on TV and working with her for the first time feels surreal, "She got a little embarrassed when I first approached her, and it gave me the feeling that I might have a hard time to be close to her, but while we are already doing the drama, Shin Hye Sun took good care of me and cheered me all throughout the series."
