Korean viewers express disapproval towards "Vincenzo" after seeing Chinese bibimbap in the drama.

Chinese Bibimbap Seen in "Vincenzo" Episode 8

Korean viewers were unhappy upon seeing a Chinese product in "Vincenzo" Episode 8, aired on March 14. It was in the scene where Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin) is seen offering a packaged Bibimbap to Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki). Following this, K-netizens took to the internet to criticize the show.

In the packaging of bibimbap, the company name and the flavor of the Bibimbap were written in Chinese. A few minutes after it was aired on primetime, the issue escalated. Some online users commented that they used to like the drama, but seeing the Chinese product made them dislike the series. Others were blaming the production team of "Vincenzo" for allowing the item to be used instead of a Korean-made one.

Meanwhile, others expressed concern as, for them, Chinese netizens might start to claim again that the food originated from their country, alluding to the previous issue with Hanbok's origin.

"Vincenzo" production team is yet to give a statement on the matter, aIthough reports stated that the product used was created in collaboration between a popular Korean food company Chungjungone with the Chinese company. The Korean company is known for making Korean pepper paste and other food products. Their logo was also included on the packaging of the bibimbap seen in the drama.

"Vincenzo" Viewership Ratings Continue to Soar High

"Vincenzo" Episode 7 and Episode 8 kept the audience entertained with classic blends of emotions. From comedy, romance, and action, the drama proved that every episode is worth watching.

In fact, according to Nielsen Korea, Episode 7 (aired on March 13) was able to achieve an average rating of 9.2 percent nationwide and broke into double digits during Episode 8, with an average rating of 10.4 percent.

Episode 8 gained the most of the attention due to Kim Sung Cheol's guest appearance. His character as Hwang Min Seong gave an interesting vibe to the story, plus his unexpected lovey-dovey moments with Song Joong Ki made the audience hooked on the drama's brilliant and funny twist.
