Seo Ye Ji announced that she would not join the premiere of her comeback movie "Recalled" after facing a series of backlash due to her involvement in Kim Jung Hyun and Girls' Generation's (SNSD) Seohyun's controversy.

In a new report cited by a South Korean publication, the "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" star shared that she would cancel her appearance due to "personal reasons."

With this, the movie premiere will be attended by fellow lead star Kim Kang Woo and director Seo Yoo Min.

"Recalled," or known as "Tomorrow's Memories," is set to debut April 21, 2021, where Seo Ye Ji plays Ji Hoon's wife (Kim Kang Woo), who had amnesia but was able to discover her husband's dark secret.

Seo Ye Ji Requests to Block Questions Regarding Kim Jung Hyun's Controversy

Prior to her movie's premiere, an outlet shared that the actress initially planned to release an official statement on April 12 and address her "position" towards the issue.

Moreover, the 31-year-old celebrity also mentioned that she would attend the press conference, set on April 13.

Unfortunately, the "Lawless Lawyer" star failed to address the issue, but instead, she cleared out her personal Instagram account in the wake of the issue.

As for her premiere, she reportedly made sure of her presence but pointed out that the actress "will not accept questions [about the controversy].

After the "Recalled" team explained to Seo Ye Ji that it's impossible to block all questions related to the issue, the actress mentioned that she would withdraw her appearance.

The said issue comes after Dispatch revealed a series of texts by Seo Ye Ji and Kim Jung Hyun, who was then her boyfriend at the time.

Based on the exchange of communication between the two, it appears that the "By Quantum Physics: A Nightlife Venture" star was the mastermind behind the actor's harsh treatment towards his "The Time" co-star, Seohyun.

According to the messages, the 31-year-old actress instructed Kim Jung Hyun to do his scenes "without passion" and "refrain from all physical contact."

In addition, she also urged the "Crash Landing on You" actor to request the drama writers to alter the script "so it won't have any romantic scenes."

Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ye Ji's Agency Denies the Controversy

However, this was all denied by their agency as Gold Medalist, who handles Seo Ye-ji, said that they are "looking into" the details and the involvement of their talent.

On the other hand, Kim Jung Hyun's agency, O& Entertainment, mentioned that they are clueless about the issue and won't make any further comment given that they have an ongoing "dispute" with the actor.

How did Kim Jung Hyun Make Seohyun's Filming Uncomfortable?

Apparently, the 31-year-old actor made the whole filming difficult and uncomfortable for Seohyun.

In a resurfaced issue, Kim Jung Hyun showed coldness to his co-star and even made him cry by wiping his hands with a wet tissue after his scene with the SNSD member that involved touching her hands.

With this, netizens rallied behind the singer-actress; thus, the hashtag #ApologizetoSeohyun went trending on Twitter.
