Lee Seung Gi's performance in "Mouse" shows why he is perfect for his role. Taking on his role - a psychopathic predator is no walk in the park, but the actor is praised to the heavens because he truly does justice to this complicated character.

"Mouse" Shocks with a Protagonist Turned Predator

"Mouse" is a TvN drama revolving around Jung Ba Reum, a self-righteous police officer that is quite naive in the eyes of many, and his partnership with detective Go Moo Chi whose personality is quite the opposite. Jung Ba Reum is played by Lee Seung Gi, while Go Moo Chi is played by Lee Hee Joon.

Jung Ba Reum is doing his job because he truly believes in the good of humanity, while detective Go Moo Chi is already hardened by life's experiences and is out to get revenge on a serial killer who is responsible for the deaths of his parents. The interplay of their personalities and interactions make their team-up quite interesting to watch as they track down an evil psychopathic predator.

But Jung Ba Reum is not the self-righteous police officer that everyone thinks he is after all. He's essentially a wolf in sheep's clothing. Jung Ba Reum is, instead, a psychopathic predator who can hurt anyone without qualms.

Lee Seung Gi As Evil Predator Jung Ba Reum Gained Praises

Jung Ba Reum's uncanny ability to switch from a charming and innocent-looking man of the law, into an evil person capable of murder with his bare hands right before the eyes of "Mouse" fans, is astounding.

Naturally, all the credit should be given to the actor who gave justice to this character, Lee Seung Gi.

Lee Seung Gi's ability to exhibit believable warmth and then creepy coldness to show both the good and bad sides of Jung Ba Reum has led fans to praise his superb acting skills.

More importantly, the showrunners themselves are amazed by his talent.

According to someone from the production team, "We also think this kind of acting was possible because of Lee Seung Gi. Please look forward to Lee Seung Gi's performance that will surprise the small screen with his even more frightening acting as a predator."

How Will Go Moo Chi Find Out?

One of the chilling scenes of Jung Ba Reum to date is the one where he was about to kill a bird before Go Moo Chin drove by. The latter was supposed to be the hardened detective, but he was not able to guess how evil his partner is. Upon sensing his partner, Jung Ba Reum quickly changed his predatory expression into a charming one, greeting Go Moo Chin cheerfully.

He then gave a brazen lie that he was actually just trying to save an injured bird, which Go Moo Chi accepted without questions.

When Go Moo Chi drove away, Jung Ba Reum's expression slowly turned blank and cold as he watched on. His lips then turned upward into a creepy smile that did not reach his eyes while watching the trembling little bird. His words, "I'll kill you slowly," surely made a lot of viewers' hearts pound with fear, forgetting for a minute that they were merely watching their idol acting.

It remains to be seen when and how will Go Moo Chi find out.
