The animated work has depicted a story of school violence within a micro-society that is the middle school. Everyone who has experienced the kind of world a middle school has would know that it is sometimes really hard to defend oneself against bullies.

Maggie Lee of The Hollywood Reporter even wrote that while the film has a lot of high level of stylized violence, one cannot just brush off what they see as mere artistic expression or "just cartoons."

"it is not an artistic exercise. Pain is represented as something very real, enough to make one wince, she explained. Lee added that the animated work was able to effectively capture es many subtle class gradations in Korean society and reveals what can cause human interaction to become toxic and corrupted.
