Han Ye Seul shocked her followers, on May 13, by straightforwardly announcing on her social media that she now has a boyfriend. At the time, she did not give more details about the guy apart from this label. The guy looks goofy though, just happy to be with the actress.
Han Ye Seul's Boyfriend's Real Identity Shocks Fans
As fans poured their congratulatory remarks in the post's comment section, some cannot help but ask who the guy is. The actress did not answer though, so for a while, everyone assumed he's a non-showbiz guy.
Turns out the guy is not. He is in fact, someone with his own name in the entertainment and acting industry. He does not star in television dramas or films though. Instead, he's a theater person.
According to the media outlets that were able to do conduct their due research, the star's new boyfriend is a theater actor, and a very well-known one in that part of the world.
He is Ryu Sung Jae, known to have led several theater productions including "Lucky Romance," "In The Burning Darkness," and more others.
The actor is also 31 years of age, which means he is around 10 years younger than Han Ye Seul.
Han Ye Seul Instagram: Actress Acknowledges Massive Age Gap Between Them
Some fans were naturally surprised at the news. Ultimately, the actress herself went back to her social media on May 16, after talks of their massive age gap became widely talked about online. In her latest Instagram post, she shared another photo of her boyfriend, this time with her on the frame beside the guy.
Both happily looked on the camera and are obviously just happy with each other. In the caption, it was apparent that the actress heard about all the reactions to the age gap between them. She acknowledges the age gap and followed it up with statements of love for the guy to make anyone who will read the caption know loud and clear that she's not embarrassed by their age difference.
If anything else, she's more proud than ashamed.
Her Korean caption can be roughly translated into, "Thank you so much for congratulating and blessing our love ️My boyfriend is 10 years younger than me, so I call him a puppy. Cute, sweet, lovely, and above all, I'm so happy to be together. I'll try to grow it beautifully. Thank you."
It's a very sweet message and showed how accepting she is of who the guy is. This is not really surprising when one recalls an earlier interview given by the actress.
Back in 2020, she said her criteria for a boyfriend would be someone she has felt an attraction to, not an evil person, and shares the same lifestyle like her.
She then said she is not waiting for a prince in a white horse to come to find her. She said she would rather find the prince herself, and she'll be the princess in a white horse. It is apparent that she's not someone who has a traditional mindset with regard to relationships, so being with someone 10 years younger than her is no issue.
Good for her.
Some fans are very supportive, writing that she should just be happy.
