Netflix's original K-drama "Kingdom: Ashin of the North," starring Jun Ji Hyun, is officially making a comeback this year.
Following the success of its previous seasons, the streaming platform dropped a mind-boggling teaser starring the Hallyu star as she returns for the special episode.
The latest teaser hints about the beginning of the widespread chaos across Joseon and the origin of the mysterious purple flower known as the "resurrection plant."
In addition, the spinoff also focuses on Jun Ji Hyun's mysterious character, Ashin, and her involvement with the plague that brings the dead to life.
To recall, she is the heir to the Northern Yeojin tribe village, which raised the question about her association with the Joseon plague after she appeared in "Kingdom" season 2.
Based on the sneak peek, the young Ashin entered a dark cave while running her fingers over mysterious words written on a rock.
The teaser also featured a phrase that says, "to revive the dead, a price must be paid."
This was followed by Ashin holding onto the resurrection plant as she clenched her palm and crushed the purple flower.
