Idol-actress Hyeri is one of the most loved Korean stars today. Apart from being extremely talented, she is also known for having a big heart.
Girl's Day Hyeri Celebrates Her Birthday by Helping the "We=She Campaign"
The "Reply 1988" actress is celebrating her 27th Birthday today (June 9). And according to the UNICEF Korea Committee, Hyeri made a generous donation of 50 million won (Almost 45,000 US dollars) to their organization.
Hyeri chose the 'We=She Campaign' that supports young girls in giving hygiene products, as the recipient of the donation.
The birthday celebrant shared "I have learned that there are still lots of young girls in this world struggling during their monthly period, due to lack of having necessary hygiene products. And sometimes, these girls are also being discriminated against due to certain customs that consider it impure."
Hyeri confessed that it breaks her heart knowing that there are some girls who decided to skip school because there are no proper and clean restrooms for girls. With these kinds of everyday struggles, Hyeri lent a helping hand to provide them with the things that they needed the most.

Hyeri is the Youngest Member of the UNICEF Honors Club
The "Two Cops" star previously donated 100 million won to the education program "Schools for Asia," and she also became the youngest member of the UNICEF Honors Club (A group of sponsors who have donated large amounts of money.)
Secretary General Lee Ki Cheol of UNICEF Korea Committee thanked the young actress for giving importance and support to those people who are in need. According to him, "Hyeri had delivered a warm gift on her birthday. And even though she is the youngest member of the Honors Club, Hyeri's love for the society is deeper than anyone else."
The official also stated that they will use the funds carefully for a safe and clean world for girls in developing countries.

Meanwhile, Girl's Day Hyeri currently plays the role of Lee Dam in tvN's ongoing fantasy-romance series "My Roommate is a Gumiho." Her new drama is getting lots of good reviews from the viewers.
Her chemistry with actor Jang Ki Yong is already prominent in the first four episodes of the said drama.
