Kim Do Wan reflects on his journey as an actor and revealed two celebrities that he looks up to.
The 26-year-old actor came a long way from his first-ever drama way back in 2017 to making headlines portraying the role of Do Jae Jin in the hit fantasy K-drama "My Roommate is a Gumiho" with Jang Ki Yong, Lee Hyeri, and Kang Ha Na.
Now, he is slowly building his name in the industry by showing the viewers his broad acting spectrum and passion for the craft.
In his recent interview with a local outlet, the "She Knows Everything" actor shared his thoughts on the characters he portrays and how he prepares for his role.
The up-and-coming actor mentioned that he feels "attracted to active and independent" roles instead of the passive characters.
"I like people who solve cases on their own and are honest in expressing their emotions. I think I'm drawn to characters who move independently," he explained.
Aside from his on-screen romance with Kang Ha Na, Kim Do Wan also captivated the public's attention when he played the role of the nerdy software engineer Kim Yong San in the mega-hit K-drama, "Start-Up."

Kim Do Wan Reveals Why He Looks Up to Lee Byung Hun and Cho Seung Woo
During the interview, he mentioned working with celebrities about his age.
For instance, in the 2020 rom-com drama, Kim Do Wan worked alongside Hallyu star Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, and Mr. Good boy Kim Seon Ho, who is almost the same age as him.
However, there are instances when he has to mingle with the senior actors and reveals feeling terrified that he has to do better on the set.
"I mainly worked with actors my age. It was my first time working with seniors, so it was difficult and frightening. I also thought, 'I have to do better. At first, I was nervous and frozen, but as the tension gradually eased, I was having fun filming."
Speaking of senior actors, Kim Do Wan was asked about the celebrities that served as his role models.
The 26-year-old actor gets candid and mentions the names of Lee Byung Hun and Cho Seung Woo.
He explained that every time they appear on screen, the audience could "feel something new every time."
"Cho Seung Woo's movies "Marathon," "Tazza," Lee Byung Hun's movies "Inside Men" and "Into the World" are completely different in personality and charm," he mentioned adding that just like these versatile actors, he wants to portray a different character in every drama he stars.
"I want to portray a person of 180 degrees different personality perfectly and constantly challenge things I haven't done," the up-and-coming actor added.
Cho Seung Woo recently appeared in the sci-fi Kdrama "Sisyphus: The Myth" opposite Park Shin Hye.
Meanwhile, the award-winning actor Lee Byung Hun is set to lead two upcoming dramas--" Our Blues" with star-studded cast Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, Cha Seung Won, and more, as well as the forthcoming tvN series "Here" helmed by "It's Okay, That's Love" director Kim Kyu Tae.

Following the success of "My Roommate is a Gumiho," viewers can once again see Kim Do Wan on the small screen with the new comedy series "I Haven't Done My Best Yet."
He will be working together with Park Hae Joon, Park Ji Young, and veteran actor Kim Gab Soo.
