Yoo Teo has tested positive for COVID-19.

His agency, C-JeS Entertainment, confirmed the news, stating that the "Vertigo" actor contracted the virus after being tested on October 4.

In an official statement, the management explained that the actor returned to South Korea on October 1 after filming his new movie in the United States.

After his initial test, the celebrity showed COVID-19 symptoms such as high fever, prompting the actor to undergo another test.

Upon his retest came in, it was confirmed that he had contracted the virus.

With this, the management will halt all his schedules and "follow the instructions of the disease control authorities."

"His family, staff members, and employees who came in close contact with him will also be tested as soon as possible," Yoo Teo's agency said, adding "We will do our best by actively cooperating with the health authorities, and we will work harder to manage our actors and staff."

The 40-year-old actor is the latest South Korean star who has tested positive for the virus.

To recall, a slew of actors and Kpop stars were confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.

In July, heartthrob Ji Chang Wook tested positive for the virus. This was followed by "The Veil" actress Park Ha Sun in August.

As for the music industry, Treasure's Doyoung, Ateez's San, and "Cinderella" hitmaker Seo In Yong also acquired the contagious disease, causing their agencies to postpone their upcoming activities.

Yoo Teo's New Hollywood Film' Past Lives'

The news comes ahead of his new Hollywood movie "Past Lives," produced by the company behind "Moonlight" and Oscar winner film "Minari."

Yoo Teo's upcoming romance film is helmed and written by Celine Song, which also stars Netflix's "Russian Doll" Greta Lee with John Magaro as a supporting character.

"Past Lives" depicts a love story of a man and a woman who got reunited after meeting in South Korea.

Yoo Teo to Star in New Series 'Dr. Brain'

Apart from his Hollywood movie, Yoo Teo is confirmed to join the cast of Apple TV Plus original series' "Dr. Brain," which is based on the webtoon of the same name.

The 40-year-old actor will be working alongside Lee Sun Kyun, Lee Yoo Young, and Seo Ji Hye as the lead stars.

Directed by "Untact" and "The Age of Shadows" PD Kim Jee Woon, "Dr. Brain" follows the story of a skilled brain scientist who is obsessed with finding new technologies to access the activities of the brain such as consciousness and memories.

Unfortunately, a devastating incident hit his family due to a mysterious accident. With this, he used his skill to access their memories and found out the reason behind the incident.

Kdrama "Dr. Brain" is Yoo Teo's comeback to the small screen after appearing in his 2020 series "The School Nurse Files" and "Money Game."
