From Europe, Asia, America, you name it, as these series - Jun Ji Hyun's "Legend of the Blue Sea," Song Hye Kyo's "Encounter," Son Ye Jin's "Crash Landing On You," and more - highlight not just the beauty of foreign land but also their history.
Amid the pandemic, countries are slowly opening their borders and welcoming tourists around the world. This means that some of us might soon book a ticket and recreate scenes from their favorite Korean series.
With this, here are 5 travel-themed K-dramas that would make you want to explore the world again.
Crash Landing on You
Although the series focuses on the story of North Korea and South Korean natives, "Crash Landing on You" features real-life couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, where they filmed some of their scenes in Switzerland.
The tvN series highlighted the magnificent beauty of the mountainous country located in central Europe.

In one episode, fate brought captain Ri Jung Hyuk (Hyun Bin) and the beauty mogul Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) to Switzerland; unfortunately, they did not know each other at the time.
However, in the latter part of the Kdrama, Yoon Se Ri discovered that it was Captain Ri who was playing the piano by the lake. The piece was so good that it stuck in Se Ri's mind.
Descendants of the Sun
Released in 2016, "Descendants of the Sun" stars Hallyu actors Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki.
It follows the love story of volunteer doctor Kang Mo Yeon, played by the 39-year-old actress, and elite army captain Yoo Shi Jin, portrayed by the "Vincenzo" star.

The production team opted to shoot most of the scenes in Greece showcasing some of its landmarks like the Navagio Beach, known as the Shipwreck Beach, Sand Dunes of Gomati, Myrina, Arachova and the Monastery of Panagia Skopiotissa.
The Legend of the Blue Sea
From one iconic series to another is Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho's K-drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea."
Apart from the Hallyu actress' off-the runway looks playing the modern-day mermaid Shim Chung, the rom-com fantasy series highlights the picturesque beauty of Spain.

The SBS K-series featured the Lighthouse tower of Hercules, which is known to be a UNESCO Heritage site.

Other than their filming location in Seoul and Incheon, South Korea, the fantasy series was also filmed in Quebec, Canada.
