"Jirisan" episode 5 greeted the viewers with a shocking revelation as Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon hunted down the culprit behind the series of accidents and deaths at the mountain.

The mystery Kdrama continues to stimulate the fans' curiosity as park rangers Seo Yi Kang and Kang Hyun Jo begin to solve the mysterious cases.

'Jirisan' Episode 5 Highlights: Kang Hyun Jo Gathers the Lead to the Case

While the previous episode featured another terrifying death, "Jirisan" episode 5 began with the rookie ranger Kang Hyun Jo (Ju Ji Hoon) hunting down the criminal on his own.

In the drama, he tells his senior, Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun), about the vision he saw referring to the markings on the culprit's hand.

However, Yi Kang saw this on one of the locals at the mountain, Se Wook (Yoon Ji On), who was the cousin of the park's employee Lee Yang Sun (Joo Min Kyung.)

Although she believes Hyun Jo's hunch that the same person was also behind the potato bombing and the poisoning incident, Seo Yi Kang explained that they couldn't tell the police unless they had evidence.

Unfortunately, there are no security cameras on the mountain--this only made the rookie eager to find the criminal, whatever it takes.

Lee Yang Sun Goes Missing

Knowing that Se Wook might be the person responsible for the accidents, the park rangers look for Lee Yang Sun to gather details that would lead them to find evidence.

However, they found that she went alone in the woods.

With this, the group traced her location, but Jung Goo Young (Oh Jung Sae) was worried about her safety, given that she is not familiar with the area.

While searching, Goo Young found her sitting and crying in the woods and pointed out what she discovered, referring to the potato bomb.

Here, Yang Sun believes that it was his grandfather who killed one of the locals.

"I wanted to believe in my grandfather," she said when she confronted him about the incident, which he totally denied and insisted that he was not part of it.

Moreover, she mentioned that it was his cousin who pointed out that he saw their grandfather in the woods--this is to make him look like the suspect.

Kang Hyun Jo Confirms His Instinct

Since he clearly saw the scar on his vision, he was convinced that Se Wook was the actual suspect.

To confirm this, he presented a photo of him to one of the survivors and verified that the man in the photo and at the crime scene was the same.

Through this, he continued his investigation and requested a copy of CCTV footage around the area.

Together with his fellow park rangers, they searched for the evidence and luckily, they found a clip that showed See Wook holding the potato bomb.

Lee Yang Sun Finds Herself in Danger

At the police station, they invited Lee Yang Sun's grandfather for some questioning.

Here, he still insisted that he did not know any details regarding the accident.

As for Yang Sun, she felt guilty that her statement caused her grandfather to get questioned by the police.

She then gets a visit from her cousin and brings her some food to make her feel better.

Unfortunately, she immediately lost consciousness after drinking the yogurt. In "Jirisan" episode 5, it was clear that Se Wook is only an accomplice and there is someone who has been instructing him to do these kinds of things.

That is the reason why Seo Yi Kan returned to Mount Jirisan.

Apart from it, episode 5 also revealed that Hyun Jo is the one sending him signals.
