From being the boy-next-door 22-year-old actor in the blockbuster Kdrama "Full House" with Song Hye Kyo, the multi-hyphenated star whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon grew as one of South Korea's hottest and most sought after actors through the years.
With his notable series under his belt, he achieved worldwide success and landed the role of the 2009 action-packed movie "Ninja Assassin."
Rain Workout: How Did the Actor Bulk Up for his role in 'Ninja Assassin'
The Hallyu star definitely wowed the viewers with his jaw-dropping feature in the martial arts film "Ninja Assassin" where he played the role of the disillusioned assassin named Raizo.
According to media outlets, Rain prepared for his role by setting a healthy diet and boosting his exercise routines.
The "Welcome to Life" star reportedly eliminated junk foods from his diet, which means he can only eat healthy and low-carb meals.
In a previous interview, he revealed that he would only eat boiled chicken breast, brown rice, and salmon for weeks.
On top of it, he partnered it with a workout called "circuit training," a combination of multiple exercises performed with short rest periods.
Rain's workout routine for his "Ninja Assassin" film includes bodyweight exercises, kettlebell exercises, and traditional weight lifting techniques and he does this 8 hours a day for eight months to achieve his killer body seen in the movie.
Interestingly, the South Korean star was under the supervision of instructors who trained the actors for the movie "300."
After the whole training, the actor shed his body fat from 12 percent to 5 percent.
Rain Achieve his Debut Weight Thanks to Tabata Training
Although he successfully shed kilos for the movie "Ninja Assassin," Rain maintained his ripped physique.
However, in 2020 the singer-actor, who at the time was 37-years-old says that he weighed the same during his debut in 1998. '

The actor is proud that he weighs the same as his 20-year-old self, alongside a photo of him wearing an all-black ensemble.
Over Rain's Instagram, he revealed how many months it took him to lose 10kg.
"It took me three months but I am finally at my debut weight," he wrote.
Reports cited that the "Diamond Lover" star switched his workout routines to the famous Tabata training program.
Known as high-intensity interval training (HIIT) it has eight rounds of powerful exercises with 20-seconds-on and 10-seconds-off intervals.
