IN THE LOOP: “Artificial City,” Oh Jung Se’s New Kdrama and More Series to Premiere this Holiday Season

The year 2021 is about to bid goodbye, but it will leave the whole Kdrama fandom with a slew of entertaining and much-awaited series.

From historical drama, thriller mystery to Korean remake starring Oh Jung Se that would surely make you laugh and cry at the same time, here are new Kdramas airing from December 5 to 11, just in time for the holiday season.

'Artificial City' (December 8)

The newest psychological mystery thriller that would leave the viewers wanting more is "Artificial City," starring Park Soo Ae, Kim Kang Woo, Kim Mi Sook, and Lee Hak Joo.

The JTBC series focuses on the extreme power and greed of these self-driven women who will make sure to reach the nation's highest position, whether it's by hook or by crook.

In the drama, Park Soo Ae took on the role of Yoon Jae Hee, who is married to Jung Joon Hyuk, played by Jung Joon Hyuk, a couple known for being among the wealthiest families of South Korea.

They wanted to retain their power and make her husband, the president of Sung Jin Group.

"Artificial City" release date is scheduled on December 8 at 10:30 p.m. KST airing every Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC.

'A DeadbEAT's Meal' (December 10)

Based on the webtoon of the same name, "A DeadbEAT's Meal" depicts the story of jobless man Kim Jae Ho played by Ha Seok Jin.

He has been striving to look for a decent job for almost two years after five years of studying for civil service exams; however, things don't go as he planned.

Apart from his plummeting career, he also struggled to recover from a breakup but found comfort in food as his tool of comfort and satisfaction.

Joining the cast of "A DeadbEAT's Meal" is Go Won Hee and "heart Signal 2" star Im Hyun Joo.

Premiering on December 10, the upcoming series airs every Friday on Naver TV Cast.

'Uncle' (December 11)

Besides his mystery thriller Kdrama "Jirisan," viewers would get to catch Oh Jung Se in the upcoming series "Uncle."

It is a Korean remake of BBC's sitcom, which first aired in 2012.

The comedy-drama highlights the journey of Wang Joon Hyuk, played by the award-winning actor, to reach his dream to become a musician despite being a total loser.

Aside from his struggling career, he also cut ties with her sister Joon Hee (Jeon Hye Jin) but was surprised upon seeing that she left her children with him and ended up being the guardian of his nephew, who was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety.

Oh Jung Se's new drama will premiere on December 11 at 9 p.m. KST on TV Chosun.

'Taejong Yi Bang Won' (December 11)

The upcoming historical drama "Taejong Yi Bang Won" stars Joo Sang Wook, Ye Ji Won,

Kim Yeong Cheol and Park Jin Hee as the main characters.

It highlights the real historical events during the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty.

Joo Sang Wook took on the role of Yi Bang Won, who ended up being King Taejong, the person responsible for establishing the Joseon Dynasty.

"Taejong Yi Bang Won" release date is on December 11, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:40 p.m. KST on KBS1.
