Park So Dam’s ‘Special Delivery’ Receives Invitation at 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival

"Special Delivery" starring Park So Dam is getting worldwide attention and proving its significance in the entertainment scene.

Ahead of its release, the upcoming action crime movie will attend the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2022 in the Netherlands.

It came after the Rotterdam International Film Festival announced the lineup and guests for the festival campaign.

Interestingly, the annual event is considered as "Europe's Sundance" for discovering gems and masterpieces in various countries and is hailed as one of the top 10 film festivals globally.

'Special Delivery' Invited at 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival

For its 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival, the organization has officially invited "Special Delivery" to join the newly established venue, the Harbor section, that caters to the "full range of contemporary cinema that the festival champions."

According to a media outlet, Gerwin Tamsma, Rotterdam International Film Festival's program official expressed his admiration for the forthcoming South Korean film, describing it as "an interesting, delightful, and tense three-dimensional film."

Moreover, the representative also lauded the 30-year-old lead star who perfectly played her character and showed off her diversity as an actress.

"Park So Dam plays an active role in the film and leads the play perfectly. It is a work that can fully meet his new charm, which gained worldwide popularity with 'Parasite.' I hope that everyone will be able to enjoy the overflowing cinematic experience."

The 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival will open from January 26 to February 6, 2022, while ticket sales will start on January 21.

Aside from the achievement of Park So Dam's new movie, "Special Delivery '' several South Korean films were also recognized at the annual event.

To recall, three local movies took home awards at the 49th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR)--this includes the renowned Director Bong Joon Ho for his black-and-white version of "Parasite."

The 2019 film bagged the IFRR audience award, also known as the BankGiro Loterij Audience Award.

The second award goes to "Beasts Clawing At Straws," starring Jeon Do Yeon and Jung Woo Sung, helmed by Kim Yong Hoon.

The crime thriller film snagged the IFRR's Tiger Competition special jury award while "Moving On" directed by Yoon Dan Bi won the Bright Future category.

Park So Dam to Skip Promotional Activities for 'Special Delivery'

Sadly, the "Parasite" actress might not attend the promotional activities as she is currently recovering from her surgery.

Park So Dam's agency, Artist Company, previously revealed that the actress has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer and is considered as the most common type of thyroid cancer.

Her label shared that the diagnosis was traced during the actress' regular health check and was advised to undergo surgery.

Although she is getting better after the operation, the Artist Company said that the "A Beautiful Mind" star will not attend promotional activities for her upcoming movie and is "very saddened" that she won't be able to meet her fans.

"Special Delivery" is an action crime movie that follows the story of Eun Ha, played by the 30-year-old actress, who was caught up in an unexpected incident.

The upcoming film is slated to hit the big screen on January 12, 2022.
