Coming back to Seoul after their spontaneous trip and documentary filming, everything becomes a blur to Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi) and Woong (Choi Woo Sik). Obviously conflicted, the two tried very hard to keep nonchalant about the shared kiss but eventually failed. "Our Beloved Summer" episode 9 depicts Yeon Soo and Woong's resolve.
'Our Beloved Summer' Episode 9: The Kiss Lingers in Yeon Soo and Woong's Minds and Hearts
Things become even more complicated between ex-lovers Yeon Soo and Woong when the latter kissed his ex-girlfriend under the rain during their vacation trip. Now that they came back to Seoul, the two tried so hard to forget what happened that fateful day.
But their plans backfired. As much as they want to forget what happened, the more they are reminded of each other's warm lips.
Bothered by Woong's sudden avoidance, Yeon Soo started to overthink things and used alcohol as her resolve.

On the other hand, Woong busied himself with work and continued his unfinished drawings, still thinking of Yeon Soo.
Friends, Lovers or Nothing at All
A drunk Yeon Soo ended up in front of her ex-lover's house, blatantly barging in his home while still reeking of alcohol.
Woong, who has avoided the former, didn't know what to do. Yeon Soo had always been straightforward, so when she got the chance to stand face-to-face with Woong, she asked him nonchalantly about their status.
Despite Woong's obvious feelings for the former, he bitterly said that he wanted to forget about the kiss, and he doesn't want to be anything but a friend to Yeon Soo.
Yeon Soo thought they could be together again, but even though she was hurt by Woong's decision, she took it well and respected him.
Kim Ji Woong's Dilemma
Having been in love with his best friend's ex-girlfriend, Ji Woong's (Kim Sung Cheol) life has been quite hard. Even though he met Yeon Soo first, the beautiful young woman still ended up in his best friend's embrace, leaving him bitter and hurt all alone.
For years, he tried to erase the memories of Yeon Soo and their first meeting that brought butterflies to his stomach.

But it's true that one can't control who he loves, so Ji Woong continued to long for Yeon Soo in secret, never telling anyone even his one and only best friend.
A Peculiar Friendship Blooms Between Yeon Soo and Woong
Like what Yeon Soo and Woong have decided, they established their "new-found friendship" almost instantaneously, which Yeon Soo took advantage of and crashed into Woong's place.
Getting comfortable and giving much emphasis on being "friends," Yeon Soo took the day off and decided to hang out with her new "friend," and played video games with Woong all day.
However, no matter how many times they sweep the matter under the rug, it will still resurface. Butterflies and dormant feelings started to appear once again as the proximity between them decreased.
Ironically, their old friend Ji Woong, whom they thought was a chicken delivery man, is surprised to see the two of them casually hanging out with each other at Woong's house.
