Following Kook Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi) and Choi Woong's (Choi Woo Sik) drunken confrontation, the ex-couple finally untangled the messy strings they've had after their breakup. Like typical high school lovers, the newly reconciled lovers don't know how to act around each other without blushing.
'Our Beloved Summer' Episode 12: Kook Yeon Soo Promises Choi Woong She'll Never Leave
After their drunken confession, the two reconcile and finally fix the mess they've made after their catastrophic breakup.
Aside from their silly makeup situation, Yeon Soo learns about the reason behind Woong's constant troubles in sleeping.
Woong's insomnia is a product of a deep-rooted childhood pain. When he was six, Woong heard his parents crying late at night while holding a photo of a boy around his age. Even though he's slow-witted at times, he quickly picked up what was wrong but he chose to shrug it off.
He then started to get nightmares. He is reminded of a forgotten memory where he was loudly crying around the streets alone, screaming for his parents. Although he couldn't see the faces of his parents in his dreams, he knew that they were not the parents he grew up with.

Feeling pity and pain for her boyfriend, Yeon Soo swears she'll never leave Woong's side again.
Tying Loose Ends, Burning a Bridge
While Woong finally tied the loose ends and picked up where he left off with his ex-girlfriend, he felt like he was now burning a bridge with his best friend, Ji Woong (Kim Sung Cheol), who had also been deeply in love with Yeon Soo.
Because he's his only friend, Woong wants to share to Ji Woong how happy he is because of Yeon Soo. But since the latter also has deep feelings for Yeon Soo, Woong walks on eggshells around his best friend.
On the other hand, a sullen NJ (Noh Jung Ui) invites Ji Woong over for dinner and shares bottles of soju (alcohol) with him in hopes of mending their broken hearts.
NJ doesn't know of Ji Woong's feelings for Yeon Soo, but the latter clearly knows the top idol likes his best friend. The two spent the night together drinking and sharing stories, and wondering when their stupid crush on other people would end.
Loving Yeon Soo is Like an Art
Getting back together feels so new to Yeon Soo and Woong that they don't even know how to act around one another.
Because loving each other feels so surreal, the two want to savor the heart-fluttering feelings they experience whenever they're in each other's arms.
Even late at night, Yeon Soo and Woong both don't want to let go and want to spend the rest of the night in each other's embrace.
Randomly, Woong takes Yeon Soo to an art museum where he plans to hold his solo art exhibit.
When Yeon Soo asks why he plans to conduct a late night art exhibit, Woong shares his fondness for the art pieces that he created late at night.
He drew his masterpieces in the middle of the night so he wants the viewers and art enthusiasts to feel what he felt during the process.
And once again, Yeon Soo felt pity and loneliness. But Woong shrugs abruptly, saying that he never felt alone because he always thought about Yeon Soo. He tells her that there's a piece of her in every masterpiece he created.
