IU is gaining attention for her role in the new KBS drama "Pretty Man", and despite being busier and busier with her activities as both a singer and an actress, she expresses the determination to do well in both fields.
On the November 18 press conference of "Pretty Man", IU talked about how she plans to juggle her two careers. She revealed, "I planned to conclude my album promotions to prepare for the concert, but the opportunity to act as Kim Bo Tong came to me, and because I love the script and story, I decided to appear in the drama."
"I'm happy that I get to do both things I love, singing and acting," she added. "Performing relieves me of my stress with acting and vice versa, so there's a mutual cooperation between them. I also believe that I can keep doing well because I'm healthy."
Her current character Kim Bo Tong is similar to her previous characters Kim Pil Sook from "Dream High" and Lee Soon Shin from "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin", and she said that it makes it a comfortable portrayal.
Meanwhile, on being a singer, she said, "I think having IU as my stage name helps me takes responsibility as a singer. IU keeps on learning and learning while Lee Ji Eun (real name) is someone who lives simply."
Catch IU on "Pretty Man" every Wednesdays and Thursdays on KBS.
