Yoo Yeon Seok's Crossover Film 'The Vanishing' Announces Release Date
Yoo Yeon Seok, who showed off excellent performance in "Hospital Playlist 2," challenged himself with his first ever crossover film, which will be released in South Korea this year!
"The Vanishing" (also referred to as "Vanished: Case Unsolved") is a Korean-French film directed by French director Denis Dercourt that stars Yoo Yeon Seok, Olga Kurylenko, and Jiwon Ye.
On March 7, Santa Claus Entertainment released the film's main poster and simultaneously confirmed its date of release.
"The Vanishing" centers around the joint investigation between a South Korean detective and an international forensic scientist that searches for an unknown body which overturned the Republic of Korea.
The newly published poster piques viewers' interest with its characters' spine-chilling presence who are all entangled in an unprecedented case. The characters on the poster display distraught and worry, each looking in a different direction.

The drama stars Yoo Yeon Seok as Jin Ho, a detective who is adamant to solve the case that caused an uproar in his country. Opposite Korean-French actress Olga Kurylenko who plays Alis, a foreign forensic scientist with the same goal.
South Korean stars Jiwon Ye and Choi Moo Seong, who are known for their promising and stable acting, are also part of the global film.
Meanwhile, "The Vanishing" meets the public on March 30 in theaters nationwide!
'The Vanishing' Production Unit on Working With Yoo Yeon Seok
The upcoming crime thriller film "The Vanishing" is a global film produced and directed by French director Denis Dercourt.
Adapted from the novel "The Killing Room," the film guarantees a heart-stopping movie experience for both Korean and international viewers.
Originally, the film was scheduled to be released in 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.
During the press conference of the film, director Denis Dercourt revealed that South Korean entertainment and influence is highly loved in France.

The filming of the film took 20 days which became a mecca of talented actors and diligent production teams, despite the language barrier.
"The Vanishing" director Denis Dercourt described Yoo Yeon Seok as a shy and timid actor. He admits with a small laugh, "We had no idea how popular he is as an actor [because he's very quiet]."
He also revealed that he had a difficult time bridging the two countries' culture, not only with its language differences but also the intricate details that could make or break the film.
Through "The Vanishing," the director and production unit clearly saw the differences in European and South Korean acting.
The two cultures also have a different take on romance, so the crew had to do small modifications in the script and plot for the appeal.
Because of this,the production unit promises a worthwhile and thrilling movie experience with Yoo Yeon Seok, Olga Kurylenko,and Jiwon Ye in "The Vanishing."
