Jung Woo Sung joins celebrity best friend and "Hunt" co-star Lee Jung Jae at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 red carpet. The award-winning actors are set to arrive at the annual festival together to present the espionage action thriller film.

In a report obtained by Ten Asia, the movie's distributor Megabox JoongAng PlusM, shared that the upcoming movie is scheduled to premiere at Midnight screening at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19.

Apart from the Korean movie, David Bowie's documentary "Moonage Daydream" directed by Brett Morgen and "Fumer Fait Tousser" by filmmaker Quentin Dupieux will also be premiering at the midnight screening.

Interestingly, "The Hunt" is among the few selected K-movies to premiere at the prestigious festival.

Aside from Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung's film, Cannes Film Festival 2022 also invited "Broker," helmed by Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda which stars IU, "Parasite" star Ko Sang Ho, Bae Doona, Kang Dong Won and more.

Adding to the list is the Park Chan Wook directed film "Decision to Leave," which are both competing for the top honor of Palme d'Or.

The 75th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 17 to 28 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès convention center.

'Hunt' Cast, Release Date, and What to Expect

The upcoming espionage action drama is Lee Jung Jae's directorial debut and he will also appear as one of the lead stars.

"Hunt" focuses on South Korea's assassination operation, which includes National Security Agency agent Park Pyong Ho, played by Lee Jung Jae. At the height of his mission, he discovers a surprising truth while hunting down the person connected to the North Korean spies.

Jung Woo Sung took on the role of Lee Jung Jae's college turned rival Park Pyung Ho.

Joining the duo as the lead star is Jeon Hye Jin as the NIS agent. Interestingly, the upcoming movie is also the reunion project between Heo Sung Tae and Lee Jung Jae.

To recall, both appeared on Netflix's blockbuster series "Squid Game," where Heo Sung Tae gained popularity because of his villain role.

While Lee Jung Jae's movie "Hunt" is expected to be broadcast at the Cannes Film festival 2022, the actor-director has been teasing fans with still cuts ahead of the festival.

Over his Instagram, the award-winning actor shared the official poster featuring him and Jung Woo Sung, as well as teasers for the upcoming movie.

In an interview uploaded by Lee Jung Jae's agency, Artist Company, he revealed that during his first Cannes Red Carpet premiere, he hoped that he would come back as a filmmaker.

Lo and behold, the 49-year-old star and now a director returned at the same event to introduce his first-ever movie.

Lee Jung Jae expressed that he is "very happy" and grateful to be part of this year's festival.

To recall, Lee Jung Jae first attended the Cannes Film Festival for his 2010 film "The Housemaid" alongside Jeon Do Yeon.
