"My Liberation Notes" is the recently concluded melodrama that depicts the story of three siblings and a man who want to escape their seemingly dead-end lives.
The melodrama was set in a monotonous story but in retrospect, it is a tale that truly reflects the reality of life. Though it came to an end, the drama is still a gem that will hold a place in our hearts. Here's why "My Liberation Notes" is such a hit!
1. It's honest, raw and gripping
Unlike other K-Dramas, Kim Ji Won and Son Seok Koo's "My Liberation Notes" unapologetically highlights the difficulties of life and living.
It doesn't sugarcoat the realities of life, like money and how the characters aim to escape their pathetic lives.

"My Liberation Notes" also doesn't give its viewers false hopes, but it serves as an eye-opener to those who dream and whether those dreams will come true.
2. It draws a line between fantasy and reality
The drama is all about "liberating" one's self from their boring, uneventful life. It also promotes self-acceptance and how to fend for yourself.
Though people can pretend to be someone they are not, they can never change their values, principles and core beliefs.
"My Liberation Notes," although monotonous, is an absolutely unpredictable drama that will be loved even by newbie K-drama junkies.
3. It gives importance to relationships
Humans rely on companions, relationships and other people to survive. Without other people, one may not come out of their shells to reveal their true selves.
"My Liberation Notes" gives importance to self-worth, as well as finding someone who's ready to accept all of you without hesitation.
Despite the self-doubt and inhibitions, in the drama, Kim Ji Won and Son Seok Koo's characters conquered all odds and became one another's armor and self space.
4. It revels in failure
Other dramas push characters to succeed and commit to anything but "My Liberation Notes" didn't focus on achieving anything at all.
Rather than being accomplished, it makes defeat known. The drama presents failure as part of living despite how hard someone else works, or how much effort he or she exerts.
The drama gives a shed of light to surviving the day with tomorrow to look forward to.
5. It gives time, space and separation new meanings
In life, people shy away from separation and space topics but Kim Ji Won and Son Seok Koo's drama gives reassurance that the characters will be okay despite not being able to see each other for a long time.
Though they haven't figured out their lives just yet, they keep going and strive to be better on their own.
