Seo Ye Ji's new drama "Eve" premiered with a promising start. However, it seems not everyone is ready for daring scenes.
The newest Wednesday and Thursday K-drama follows the story of a revenge-driven woman, Lee Ra El, played by Seo Ye Ji. After her father's tragic death, she promised to avenge their family. Years later, she is set to destroy one of the wealthiest families in South Korea, who is behind her misery.
Park Byung Eun plays CEO Kang Yoon Gyeom and is married to the only daughter of an influential person, Han So Ra, portrayed by Yoo Sun.
'Eve' Viewership Rating
According to Nielsen Korea, "Eve" viewership ratings garnered an average nationwide rating of 3.644 percent for its pilot episode.
Interestingly, it has the same viewership achieved by Lee Kwang Soo's "The Killer's Shopping List" for its finale episode, which scored 3.688 percent.
On top of it, "Eve" episode 1 was also rated 19+ due to some of the scenes.
'Eve' Episode 1 Garners Mixed Reactions
While the K-drama premiered with a promising start, Seo Ye Ji's comeback series was hit with mixed reactions from viewers.
The majority of the viewers praised the actress' portrayal of Lee Ra El, noting that they could feel the anger and revenge of the character.
Others also mentioned that they were stunned by the tango scene, especially when Seo Ye Ji danced gracefully while showing fierceness.
On the other hand, while the majority of the viewers were impressed with the storyline line of "Eve" episode 1, there are some who expressed disappointment.

It was during the intimate scene between Lee Ra El and her husband while at the performer's waiting room.
As noted by an outlet, viewers pointed out that the K-drama might be flagged down because of the rated 19+ scenes. There are some who mentioned that the intimate moment between the couple was "awkward" and "cheesy."
'Eve' Episode 1 Highlights
Seo Ye Ji's new drama began with a surprising start as Kang Yoon Gyeom was hit by a scandal involving a third party. It was during his press conference regarding the conglomerate's achievement. The media wanted to get his reaction but chose not to talk about it.
Meanwhile, his wife, Han So Ra, was furious and wanted to do damage control by preventing the news from spreading like wildfire.
As for the revengeful Lee Ra El, "Eve" episode 1 featured her dark past involving her family. It turned out that the person behind his father's death was Han So Ra's father and his men.
Moreover, the pilot episode also featured Lee Ra El's connection with human rights lawyer Seo Eun Pyung, played by Lee Sang Yeob, and how he played a big part in her survival.
