The long wait is over as SBS dropped updates regarding the much-awaited premiere of "Taxi Driver" Season 2, starring Lee Je Hoon.
Following the success of season 1, the action-mystery Kdrama is officially getting renewed.
Lee Je Hoon & Pyo Ye Jin Returns for 'Taxi Driver' Season 2
It's official! Lee Je Hoon and Pyo Ye Jin will join "Taxi Driver" Season 2.
According to a report, the duo confirmed their appearances and will reprise their roles as Kim Do Gi and Ahn Go Eun. Unfortunately, Esom, who played the role of feisty prosecutor Kang Ha Na, stepped down due to some issues.
As noted by JoyNews24, Esom's agency, Artist Company, confirmed the news announcing that the actress will not join the K-drama because of "difficulty in coordinating the schedule," which prompted her to withdraw from Taxi Driver" Season 2.
'Taxi Driver' Season 2 Script Reading on June 12 + Slated to Debut in 2023
Following the confirmation of two lead stars, the report added that script reading for "Taxi Driver" Season 2 is slated for June 12 and will be attended by the main cast, director, and crew.
Moreover, the highly-anticipated sequel will also be joining K-dramas airing in 2023.
As of this writing, only Lee Je Hoon and Pyo Ye Jin are the confirmed cast for the upcoming season, and it is yet to be confirmed if Kim Eui Sung will also join the duo.
Is 'Taxi Driver' Worth Watching?
The webtoon-based series "Deluxe Taxi" is among the Kdramas that have gained massive hype.
Debuted in April, "Taxi Driver" garnered the highest viewership rating of 16 percent, and its finale made a record-breaking history as the fourth-highest rated SBS Friday-Saturday Kdrama; joining "The Penthouse 2," "Hot Stove League," and "The Fiery Priest."

The series follows the story of Kim Do Gi, played by Lee Je Hoon. He used to be a Special Forces officer whose mother was murdered by a serial killer.
Spending his days in agony, he was contacted by Rainbow Taxi CEO Jang Sung Chul (Kim Eui Sung) to use his anger to help other people who are also dealing with the same faith as him.
The secret group, alongside Ahn Go Eun (Pyo Ye Jin), Choi Kyung Goo (Jang Hyuk Jin,) and Park Jin Eon ( Bae Yoo Ram), infiltrate syndicates and criminal organizations by disguising themselves to help individuals with their revenge.
Aside from the powerful cast lineup, viewers also lauded how the series covers social issues like bullying, harassment, and more.
