The production team behind Kim Go Eun's drama "Yumi's Cells 2" answers the public's request for the series' new sequel.
The TVING series is a webtoon-based K-drama that follows the protagonist's story, Kim Yumi. She is an ordinary office girl who lives an extraordinary life full of twists alongside her adorable cells, who are responsible for her emotions, actions, decisions, and feelings.
Kim Go Eun takes the titular role with GOT7's Jinyoung who plays her colleague turned boyfriend Yoo Babi.
The second season also featured Kim Yumi's ex-boyfriend Goo Woong, who made an impactful comeback.
Viewers also witnessed the significant characters of rapper P.O and Shin Ye Eun, who took the roles of illustrator Control Z and intern Yoo Da Eun.
As "Yumi's Cells 2" wrapped up the season with a successful episode, fans with an open-ended and not to mention emotional finale.
Viewers were left hanging with Yumi's love journey and the new mysterious character introduced in the last part of the episode.
'Yumi's Cells' Production Team Responds to Viewers' Demand for Season 3
The webtoon-based series is one of the most talked about topics after the K-drama aired its finale episode on July 23.
Viewers expressed their mixed feelings about the "Yumi's Cells 2" finale, demanding to have the final season wrap up with a "happy ending" for Kim Yumi.
With this, the production team has responded to the public's demand.
As obtained by the outlet, the team expressed their gratitude to fans who supported and loved the drama.

However, they will have to take a break and discuss the possibilities of season 3 after the time off.
"We're thankful that viewers have expectations for season 3 as much as they have loved seasons 1 and 2," the production team said, adding, "the second season has just ended, and the seasons require long production time, so the production team needs to take a break first. Season 3 will be discussed after that."
While people urge the network to produce another sequel, "Yumi's Cells 2" gained fans not just in South Korea but as well as in North America, Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

As the viewers hope and look forward to the possibility of "Yumi's Cells' season 3, fans could also see the cast in their respective upcoming projects.
Kim Go Eun is headlining the cast of novel based series "Little Women" with Nam Ji Hyun and "All of Us Are Dead" star Park Ji Hoo.
Meanwhile, GOT7's Jinyoung recently graced the cover of Arena Homme Plus Korea and will be starring in a new K-drama "The Witch" with Roh Jeong Eui.
