Kim Tae Ri never fails to wow viewers with her impressive performance, whether in a K-drama or movie. Best known for her role in "The Handmaiden," the 32-year-old beauty cemented her name in Hallyu as one of the most sought-after stars of her generation. This 2022, the actress is headlining back-to-back projects and seems to be booked and busy in the coming year.
Interestingly, besides her outstanding acting skills, Kim Tae Ri is also dedicated to portraying the character and undergoing various physical training flawlessly.
Kim Tae Ri's Workout Activities
Besides the award-winning movie "The Handmaiden" and "Mr. Sunshine" with Lee Byung Hun, one of Kim Tae Ri's career highlights this year is her K-drama comeback, "Twenty-Five Twenty-One."
The baby-faced 32-year-old actress took the role of fencing prodigy Na Hee Doo, opposite Nam Joo Hyuk.
Their undeniable chemistry was lauded by the audience, noting how they perfectly portray their respective characters.
In her previous interview, as obtained by a media outlet, the actress spoke about her preparations for the role of Na Hee Do.
For five to six months, Kim Tae Ri's workout routine included fencing, and was trained by a gold medalist.
"Fencing is a cool sport that also makes you miserable," the actress mentioned as she described the sport and mentioned that she spent months pouring her heart and soul into learning the sport.
"Bona and I learned from the same teacher, and I got angry because I kept losing, so I did a lot of research," she said, bringing out her competitive side.

This experience was also written in her diary, which was actually used as Hee Do's diary in the K-drama "Twenty-Five Twenty-One."
In a separate interview by Elle Korea, she shared her preparations for playing Lee Ahn in her new movie "Alien."
Kim Tae Ri stars in the sci-fi adventure film alongside Kim Woo Bin and Ryu Jun Yeol, directed by Choi Dong Hoon of "The Thieves" and "Assassination."
Like "Twenty-Five Twenty-One," the actress focuses on training with swords and gymnastics to prepare her for her action stunts.
"While filming 'Alien,' I learned apparatus gymnastics. It's an exercise that suits me," she said; however, she spoke about how she fell in love with fencing and even recalled the time she was moved to tears upon watching an Olympic game.
"I fell in love with it instantly. I cried and laughed while watching the fencing game at the Tokyo Olympics," she shared.
Kim Tae Ri's New Hobby
Besides learning new sports, Kim Tae Ri also likes to discover more activities, and interestingly, she revealed that she has a new hobby.
Who would have thought that she would be into birdwatching?
As her interview with Elle Korea continues, she shares how it is calming to hear the birds chirping.
"In the past, I didn't know there were so many birds in Seoul. Now, when I hear the sound of birds, I look around first," she said, adding, "Small happiness has been added to my daily life."
