Amid the positive response from the audience and promising viewership rating, "Little Women" is facing accusations of plagiarism issue.
According to reports, one of the drama's official posters harbors similarities with the Japanese cosmetic brand Shiseido. The beauty company released the campaign back in 2016 featuring four women.
However, after tvN released the official poster of "Little Women" ahead of its premiere, the public found a resemblance between the two artworks.
Both featured almost the same color choices, directions and even poses, which is why the K-drama adaptation is criticized for copying the brand's campaign poster.
Representatives of 'Little Women' Addresses Plagiarism Issue
Following the controversy, a producer of K-drama responds to the issue after "Little Women" was caught up in suspicion of plagiarism.
As obtained by a news portal, the reps did not admit or apologize regarding the claims. However, they explained the meaning behind the drama's official poster.
"This poster is our teaser poster with the concept of three siblings and their shadows walking towards a bright place. It's the making of the company in charge of design after reviewing multiple works."
Adding to this, the producer pointed out that they "will pay even more meticulous attention through in-depth prior previews in the future" but did not mention if they will take down the controversial image.
'Little Women' Viewership Rating
Despite this, the novel-based K-drama is getting soaring ratings after airing its first two episodes.
According to Nielsen Korea, "Little Women," which stars Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo, kicks off with higher viewership ratings compared to its predecessor "Alchemy of Souls."

Why Is 'Little Women' Worth the Hype?
The newest tvN series follows the story of three siblings, who are caught up in a chaotic situation involving the country's influential family.
Growing up in poverty, the eldest Oh In Joo (Kim Go Eun,) the middle child Oh In Kyung (Nam Ji Hyun,) and the youngest Oh In Hye (Park Ji Hoo) encountered challenges that would completely shake up their lives.
As seen in the first two episodes, Oh In Joo investigates the death of her close friend after she found her hanging in her closet.
In addition, she was surprised to see that her friend left her with billions of won, which is said to be the missing slush fund.
As the eldest dealt with her own problems, Oh In Kyung got suspended from her work as a journalist after she was caught getting drunk at work. However, she still continues to dig into the case involving the politician Park Jae Sang (Uhm Ki Joon).
