Kim Go Eun's 'Little Women' Premieres
Based on the 1868 novel of the same name, penned by Louisa May Alcott, tvN adapted "Little Women" into a drama that stars Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo. They play as sisters who grew up in a poor environment, but their fate starts to change when they get involved in a case against the richest family in Korea.
Warning: There will be spoilers ahead!
The K-drama premiered on September 3. During its first two episodes, Oh In Joo (Kim Go Eun) was in search of evidence to prove that her best friend was framed and was, instead, murdered.
That friend gave her a pair of limited edition shoes. However, she didn't believe her friend bought it herself and went to the shop to figure out who did it and how it might connect to what had happened to In Joo's friend.
Song Joong Ki's Cameo Goes Viral: 'Vincenzo' x 'Little Women' Crossover
At the shoe store, Oh In Joo conversed with the attendant, portrayed by Song Joong Ki. She confirmed from him the person who bought the luxury pair of heels.
While viewers gush over Song Joong Ki in suit and his visuals, people noticed that his brief appearance was related to his K-drama role in "Vincenzo," where he played the titular Korean-Italian mafia lawyer.
Eagle-eyed viewers who watched the episode guessed that some of the creatives behind the drama might have been fans of Song Joong Ki's series as there were references to "Vincenzo" throughout Kim Go Eun's scene with the actor.
First, viewers noticed that the shoe store where Song Joong Ki was working is called Bruno Zumino, an Italian store, pointing out that Vincenzo was raised in Italy.
The next thing people saw was Oh In Joo's shoes. People said the pair was similar to a scene between Vincenzo Cassano and Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin).
Because of these subtle references, viewers were also amazed by how lowkey they were to not overpower the scene.
