The 12-part episode series depicts the journey of a Seoul-based veterinarian, Han Ji Yul (Choo Young Woo), who temporarily moved to Heedong to be a substitute doctor at his grandfather's veterinary hospital.
In the countryside, he meets Officer Ahn Ja Young (Red Velvet's Joy) and introduces him to the neighbors and the lifestyle at Heedong.
Apart from Officer Ahn, Han Ji Yul also met Lee Sang Hyun (Baek Sung Chul) who is Officer Ahn's best friend.
The feel-good K-drama "Once Upon a Small Town" airs every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via Kakao TV and Netflix.
'Once Upon A Small Town' Episode 11 Recap
As the rom-com series heads to its finale, Officer Ahn Ja Young and Han Ji Yul were officially dating.
However, given that Heedong is a small countryside where older people would gossip about their budding relationship, the couple decides to keep things a secret.
They tried to go on a secret date and lowkey meet each other so no one would notice that they had been going out.

Interestingly, Han Ji Yul decides to take Ahn Ja Young on a date to Seoul so no one will notice them.
He even showed his workplace to her and talked about their long-distance relationship set up once Han Ji Yul gets back to Seoul.
He promised that the 8-hour back and forth trip would be worth it.
After spending hours in Seoul and driving back to the city, Han Ji Yul wishes to see Ahn Ja Young more often; however, she is worried that people might notice their setup.
Surprisingly, Ji Yul's young neighbor Kim Seon Dong confessed that he is dating her female best friend but only wanted Officer Ahn and Han Ji Yul to be the person to know that they were dating.
As for Ahn Ja Young, she realized that even kids knew how complicated things will be if they went out in public.
While things are official between her and the doctor, Ahn Ja Young had a heart-to-heart talk with Lee Sang Hyun and told him that they are dating.
Although Lee Sang Hyun doesn't fully support her dating Han Ji Yul because of his feelings for the female officer, he tells Ahn Ja Young that he'll be by her side through and through, just like an older brother.
In the last scene of "Once Upon a Small Town" episode 11, it hints that a local villager saw Hna Ji Yul and Officer Ahn kissing in the alley. Will their relationship get noticed by the people, or can the two keep it a secret till the end?
