Rising to fame this year is "Twenty Five, Twenty One" actor Choi Hyun Wook. In his recent series "Weak Hero Class 1," the young star proved his natural talent by improvising most of his scenes.
Choi Hyun Wook Praised For His Ad-Libs
With the continued popularity of the campus-action drama "Weak Hero Class 1," its stars also start to be recognized. One of the leads, Choi Hyun Wook, who played the role of An Soo Ho, mentioned in his previous interview that he actually didn't follow the script and became more creative in expressing his character.
In the show, An Soo Ho is good at fighting and has loyalty to Yeon Shi Eun (Park Ji Hoon). He is a former martial artist and works part-time while juggling his studies.
Lead actor Park Ji Hoon revealed that Choi Hyun Wook did not follow the script and expressed everything in just one line. The idol-actor was in awe of his co-actor's talent and said he learned a lot from him.
On the other hand, Choi Hyun Wook shared that rather than following the script, he acted while communicating with the director. As a result, the ad-libs naturally came out, which made to the final cut.
How Choi Hyun Wook Prepares For His Ad-Libs
The "Racket Boys" star said when he saw the play, he was responsible for making Soo Ho's character more appealing. To make it happen, Hyun Wook prepared a lot-and some lines came out naturally while talking to the director on the spot.

Choi Hyun Wook confessed that he felt that he had matured more while portraying Soo Ho's character. He also mentioned that the active personality of his character and his connection to friends were similar to his real life, that's why it looked natural for him to establish a strong synergy with Park Ji Hoon.
Meanwhile, due to the drama's genre, it was prohibited for teenagers. But Choi Hyun Wook explained that he did not act with the thought of melting the hearts of fans and was more focused on how he could portray his character well.
He also shared that the director often praised him for being good at learning and reading between the lines.
Though there were difficult parts in the drama, Choi Hyun Wook was able to challenge himself and did an action genre for the first time. He wishes to continue learning and gain more experience in his future projects.
