"Dr. Romantic 3" is approaching nearer as SBS hints at the target premiere date for the highly-anticipated sequel.
After three years of waiting, Teacher Kim, played by Han Seok Ku, and the staff of Doldam Hospital are back with more heartwarming stories every week. According to a media outlet, SBS has revealed an update regarding the release date of the beloved medical K-drama.
'Dr. Romantic 3' Airs After Lee Je Hoon's 'Taxi Driver 2'
Finally, the long wait is over for viewers who look forward to seeing the Doldam Hospital staff, along with the skilled head doctor, Teacher Kim.
As announced by SBS, "Dr. Romantic 3" will premiere in April, airing every Friday and Saturday, after Lee Je Hoon's drama "Taxi Driver 2" wraps up the season.
From returning cast members, "Dr. Romantic 3" also welcomes a new cast as Lee Shin Young of "Crash Landing on You" portrays the youngest Doldam Hospital doctor.
In addition, Lee Hong Nae, who appeared in "Inspector Koo" and "The King: Eternal Monarch," will play the role of a military doctor.
What to Expect in 'Dr. Romantic 3'
While season 1 touched on the stories of two doctors, played by Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, and season 2 that featured the characters of Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung, the third sequel might showcase the relationship of the latter as they reprise their roles.
In addition, viewers might also witness a new antagonist and how Dr. Kim transforms Doldam Hospital into a trauma center.
On the other hand, the production team discussed why the drama returned with its third sequel.
As obtained by a media outlet, the medical series "received great love from viewers each season," and with the support of fans, "the production team and actors will all do our best to prepare so that we can repay those who still remember and await [the return of] 'Dr. Romantic.'"
