The crime-action movie follows the adventure of people getting involved in a smuggling scheme.

Kim Hye Soo is Jo Chun Ja, a haenyeo (a Korean term for female divers) who participates in the crime. Jo In Sung returns to the silver screen as a smuggler king, Kwon Pil Sam, who rules the smuggling scenes across the country.

During the interview, Kim Hye Soo described her role as the most primitive character she has played in her three decades of career.

"Throughout my career, I've played many interesting characters. But none of them were as crass as Jo Chun Ja. She has a reasonable amount of vulgarity."

Meanwhile, Jo In Sung talked about the depth of the casting process, claiming that the rest were cast because they were free at that time.

According to him, "When Director Ryoo called me and asked what I'd been up to these days, I replied, 'Nothing.' He then invited me to the 'Smugglers' set, saying that I shouldn't be slacking off like that."

He continued "I went because I was told to visit the set, and performed in front of the camera because I was told to. That's why I'm sitting here today," which made everyone in the room laugh.

Jo In Sung shared that his major focus in the movie was on the action scenes, "I worked harder on the action scenes here than I did on my other works." However, it was different from Kim Hye Soo.

The veteran actress confessed that she was impressed by something other than the actor's action parts. The "Under the Queen's Umbrella" star said that as she watched Jo In Sung's every action scene in the movie, the best part was his face.

"I was stunned by his visuals. After all, the face is a part of the acting as well. Whenever I saw his face, I was like, 'Wow, he's so handsome."

She even highlighted that Jo In Sung's eyes was the most captivating, which made the actor shy.

"Smugglers" is scheduled to meet the viewers in cinemas beginning July 26.
