The latest episodes of "Reply 1994" gained attention for featuring cameo appearances from the "Reply 1997" cast Seo In Guk, Jung Eun Ji, Hoya and others, but were they enough to raise the show's decreasing ratings?
Despite being highly successful within the parameters of a cable drama, "Reply 1994" is showing a decrease in ratings in its recent episodes. The highest recorded average ratings was during Episode 13 with 9.60%, but it has since then shown a drop in viewer patronage with a rating of 9.30% for Episode 14, and a big decrease for Episode 15 with 8.10%.
Episodes 16 and 17 which aired last week both received average ratings of 8.30%, showing that bringing in the characters from the previous season did very little to increase the numbers.
Seo In Guk, Jung Eun Ji, Hoya, Shin So Yul, Lee Shi Un and Eun Ji Won from "Reply 1994" made appearances as their original characters Yoon Jae, Shi Won, Joon Hee, Yoo Jung, Sung Jae and Hak Chan, respectively. The first five cast members met Jung Woo's character Garbage in a bus, and due to hilarious circumstances involving H.O.T., Garbage goes home with a broken neck and arm. Meanwhile, Eun Ji Won plays Go Ara's tutoring student, and she mistook his shyness with rebellion, thus making her mad at him.
"Reply 1994" airs every Fridays and Saturdays on tvN.
