"Strong Girl Namsoon" episode 8 showcased two sides of Lee Yoo Mi's character as she takes on the titular role of Gang Nam Soon.
From being a small town girl in Mongolia, she is set to save the world with her superhuman strength. Not only that, she uses her contagious wit to have a successful mission even in front of the viscous villain Ryu Shi Oh, played by Byeon Woo Seok.
Based on the hit K-drama "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," the JTBC spin-off "Strong Girl Namsoon" depicts the story of the three generations of women in Nam Soon's family.
Apart from her, her mother Hwang Geum Joo (Kim Jung Eun) is a trillionaire chaebol whose mission is to hunt down drug suppliers in their neighborhood.
The same goes for Geum Joo's mother, the legendary Gil Joong Gan (Kim Hae Sook), is committed to stopping the crimes in Gangnam.
'Strong Girl Namsoon' Viewership
As the story concluded its first half, "Strong Girl Namsoon" faces a minimal boost in ratings.
As for Kang Hee Shik, he was terrified that the mission would put Nam Soon in danger, so he gave her a device to protect her, and that included a camera monitored by him and his teammate.
At the special meeting, Ryu Shi Oh introduced Nam Soon to one of the board members of Geum Ju Group, Heritage Club's Madam Kim.
In a private room, Madam Kim offered Nam Soon a drink and teased her that she should handle a strong liquor because he worked for the Doogo CEO.
However, Nam Soon suddenly choked and collapsed, which made Madam Kim burst into laughter. She said that the drink would cause Nam to be paralyzed for three hours, but knowing her, she popped right back and mentioned that poison didn't work for her and knew that it was another test from the CEO.
Based on Hee Shik's investigation, the woman and Ryu Shi Oh were part of a Russian mafia group called Pavel.
Interestingly, because Nam Soon was their undercover agent, the police got a hold of their confidential client list.
